Dear colleagues,

There is lots of interest, and this is good! Where are we in terms of
process? How many slots are available for funding? Are we at a point where we
will need to apply the criteria we employed for the Toronto meeting? I think
being consistent would be helpful.

Best,

Rosa

Dear all,
I have received several indications of interest to participate at the
meeting of the FTF and the general GCAP meeting in Nairobi.
>From the facilitation team Prisca, Luisa and Josephine were the ones who
responded (Rosa, Nerea and Marcela had confirmed earlier their participation).
Besides that, I received several indications of interest. I am listing them
below:

>From Latin America:
- Adelaida Entenza, from REPEM (She was at the Beirut meeting and is part of
the Latin American coalition)
- Magaly Pineda (member of the Latin American facilitation team)

>From Africa:
- Yadi Eribo (I do not know her, and looked up in internet. She is from an
organisation called Worldview from The Gambia)
- Ricardia Dennis (Association of Disabled Women, Liberia). She wrote a
strong message complaining about the treatment of disabled women. They had
applied to go to the strategic meeting in Toronto but they did that late, and after
the places for Africa were covered.

>From Asia/Europe
- Rehana Khilji from Pakistan. She has been active in the list. She says thou
gh that she cannot go, those are the dates for her to have a baby!!! She
wants to know if they can nominate someone from the head office in Dublin. Her
organisation is CONCERN Worlwide

>From North America
- Betsy Apple, from WEDO, who has been very active or at least during 2005.
They do not need funding.

I would very much appreciate comments from the regions, because that is the
purpose of having a facilitation team, that we can get direct information
from the regions. We need to take an urgent decision because people need to buy
their tickets now! And we need to know if these are women who are involved,
have contributed, etc. You are the ones in a position to send this information.

I think that by Monday next week we should know who is going to Nairobi. We
have some funding and besides the IFT has reserved three places for the FTF
so we can try to complement. But we need to take a decision on who we think
should attend the FTF evaluation and planning meeting for 2007.

Nobody is left out, we are all part of the facilitation team and we need to
take decisions as a group. So I really appreciate your feedback. To be able
to write to the other women with an answer by Monday, I think it is important
that you send your comments by tomorrow or Saturday.

Those of you from the team who have not confirmed, please let us know by
Saturday if you are planning to participate. Next week I also need to work on
the budget, so please send the costs of travelling from your home country to
Nairobi. Remember also that we are planning to present a workshop at the WSF.
We must start planning that very soon. Elizabeth, you were the one in charge
of coordinating this group, let´s start with that planning.

Thanks, and I look forward to your answer and comments.
Warm greetings,
Ana
