Dear Ana, (please forward)

Thank you for your urgent words. Your points are well taken and thanks again for keeping us all informed and now, it is up to us to do our share. Let us keep the momentum of Toronto alive. I include myself in this and I know that life and our work is constant. But our work is important colegas. I just want to share that today and tomorrow the FTF GCAP is visible at the UN with Wahu Kaara as a plenary speaker talking about women and gender equality. She is also on a panel tomorrow on behalf of the FTF.

Ana, I will try to sneak away to get in touch with you and respond to your questions.

Thanks again,

Rosa

Subject: [Ftffacilitationteam] Nairobi

Dear all, (Luisa, si algo no entiendes me escribes, te parece?) We really need to take urgent decisions and I need your feedback to proceed. I agree with Josephine that the facilitation team has a priority to go to Nairobi, but if some members do not reply, we cannot consider them. There is no way we can plan to include those from whom we do not get any feedback!!! So, below are the urgent items:   - Who is attending the Nairobi FTF meeting? From the facilitation team the ones who have confirmed are: Prisca, Luisa, Rosa, Nerea, Josephine and Marcela. I assume Elizabeth is going because she mentioned some activities in other message. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE TRAVEL COST FROM ANY OF YOU!  I cannot look at the budget and take any decision on how many women we can fund without that information!! Please, send it at the latest by Friday. Otherwise I will assume you are not going. I´m sorry to sound a bit strong, but if I do not receive regular feedback from you there is no way to work as a team. Thanks then for sending this information by Friday. And what about Pam and Sharmila? You are the ones who have not responded. So, should I assume you will not be there?   - Logistics of meeting     Date: 19 and 20 January. For planning purposes, we need to stick to a date, otherwise there is no way women can plan to be there. The Forum starts on the 20, but in the afternoon, so we have 19 all day and 20 till midday.     Venue: I am going to enquire costs at the hotel where ICAE is holding its world assembly, that is the Panafric Hotel. I suggest that Elizabeth who is in the region finds out about other possible venues. Please Elizabeth, when you enquire about this, find out also about catering. Other GCAP women will be there, besides the facilitation team. We should plan for a meeting of 15 to 20 participants.       Accommodation: we cannot book accommodation. This is a very different meeting than the one in Toronto where we could plan everything. Now the WSF is taking place in Nairobi and hundreds of thousands of people will be there. So each of you will have to do her own accommodation booking.     - GCAP general meeting We have three places for this. I need to find out if those who are already in Nairobi for the FTF meeting can participate. The issue is that this implies staying longer. We have budgeted for five days, so each organisation should look for ways to pay for the other days.   - WSF workshop According to our logframe, we have a team that should work on the proposal for the workshop and Elizabeth is responsible for this. Please Elizabeth, we need your feedback. If we are running a workshop at the WSF, we must register already. WE NEED TO AGREE ON THIS URGENTLY: NAME OF THE WORKSHOP, AND WHO WILL REGISTER IT AT THE WSF!!!   Besides this, there are the activities that some of our organisations are organising, like the workshop on gender, poverty and education during ICAE Assembly (I will send you information on this soon) and the Activity of African women (24 January) that Elizabeth has informed about (we need further information).   So, as you see, there is a lot we need to decide. Please reply to this message and let´s try to plan together. If any of you wants to talk on the phone, I am sending my Skype name in case you use Skype: anajairo2 Just add that address to your contacts and we can then phone each other. I look froward to your reply.
