to the FTF interaction in Montevideo.
I think that with 2 (two) representatives from Africa ( North/Arab countries
and South/Africa South of` Sahara), they represent very well the region.

Caribean is missing , a fair proposal could be the the participation of the

Dear all,
although I have not written these last three days (we had the Executive
Commmitte meeting of ICAE in Montevideo) I have followed the discussion
closely of the Montevideo participation. I think that we must make a
decision and ask participants to register tomorrow (the deadline was Friday!)
I think that the regional representation and the involvement in the FTF
should be the guiding criteria.
We have four places, and on that basis, please find my suggestion below:
1. Rosa (this is clear)
2. Prisca or Josephine - We must decide on one place for Africa
3. Representative from Flora Tristan (if they take the commitment to be
members of the Facilitation Team once Luisa leaves) or Marianela from GCAP
Dominican Republic (as we have long been looking for someone from the
Caribbean)Again, we must decide here on one place for Latin America.
4. Chona from Asia.
I must say though that nobody from Asia had indicated that they wanted to
participate on behalf of the FTF and I assumed they were coming to
Montevideo representing either the region or the national coalition. Chona
is in GCAP Philipines so I though that was where she was coming from. But if
this is not the case, we need to have one representative from Asia.
It is not ideal, we are leaving women out from organisations that have been
actively involved and who have personally worked hard. The issue is that we
have those few slots (we were going to have three, now four, and it is
actually five as I come as the host).
I have insisted with Regina that people whose names are not on the list by 9
April (when we agreed that she will be sending me the final list for visa
purposes) will not come. So, we might be loosing spaces if we do not take a
quick decision. As the facilitation team of the FTF we have the
responsibility to do it.
Next week is a holiday in Uruguay and I will not check my message every day.
I hope those involved are able to reply to this message by tomorrow and take
the final decision. I will try to liaise with Rosa.
