Dear all,
I think we should agree on our answers to this questionnaire as they are key for the future of GCAP. Rosa and Josephine are both in the group that prepared the questionnaire, so they can give some guidance on this. There is time till August 25 but we should agree earlier on how we are going to respond.
I look forward to your comments.
Thanks!
Ana

GCAP Structure post-2007
As decided in the GCAP Global meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay on May 3-5, 2007, it is the mandate of the Future Structure Task Group to submit a formal proposal to the International Facilitation Team regarding the Future Structure of GCAP after January 2008.
The Group has been deliberating on this challenging question in the last 3 months and now we would like to turn to you to provide input.
Read the cover letter in:
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
We ask you to respond to the attached questionnaire:
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
Please take a moment to respond as your input will be valued in making this important decision regarding the future institutional and organizational framework of GCAP.
PLEASE RESPOND AND SEND IT BACK TO Katsuji Imata, Organizational Development Coordinator of GCAP Support Team at katsuji.imata en civicus.org BEFORE August 25, 2007. Should you have questions, please feel free to ask Katsuji as well.
In responding the questionnaire, please make sure that you refer to the following annexes.
Annexes:1. Pros and Cons of Different Structural Options
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
2. Host Organization Criteria and Expression of Interest Form
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
3. Discussion Timeline
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
4. Guiding Principles for the Future Structure Task Group
English French Spanish Arabic Portuguese
The initial mandate and guiding principles of the Group are captured in Annex 4. In Montevideo, we took a straw poll, whose result is shown in Annex 1. Annex 1 also points out the Group’s post-Montevideo assessment of pros and cons of different structural options. One of the questions in the questionnaire asks you again to state your preference among the different options after reviewing this Annex 1.
Annex 3 shows the current timeline for discussion as amended by the International Facilitation Team (IFT) and you will see where in the entire process this questionnaire fits in. You will also see that the Group is scheduled to have a face-to-face meeting on August 29-30 in order to set the clear direction and to make a formal proposal to the IFT. Your input is thus essential so that we can make a well-informed and thought-out proposal.
With best regards,
GCAP Future Structure Task Group
