Dear Ana,

This looks very good.  I see mobilizations only in Latin America.  Were there any in other countries with FTF members?  It would be great if we could have others to add.  Great work, and thanks.

Rosa

Dear all,

tomorrow is the IFT call and one of the agenda items is a report from constituencies around the G8. I prepared the following report from the FTF and would very much appreciate your comments. Let me know if there was any other action I did not include. Thanks!!!

Amigas, mañana hay reunión del EFI y uno de los puntos de la agenda es el informe de los distintos equipos sobre la movilización en torno al G8. Yo preparé el siguiente informe del ETF y les agradecería que me dijeran si falta algo. Muchas gracias!

Ana

FTF Actions around G8

1. Contributed with specific inputs with a gender perspective into the GCAP Press Statement in Germany.

2. Sent information to be uploaded in the website.

3. Support to the Women Won’t Wait Call to the G8: Women’s Coalition Demands G8 Action on Violence Against Women.

-         We circulated the call among our constituency

-         Translated the call into Spanish

-         Signed the Call as FTF

-         Sent it for inclusion in the website and as resource document for media officer in Rostock

Women Won't Wait is an international coalition of organizations and networks from the global South and North committed to, and working for many years to promote, women's health and human rights in the struggle to comprehensively address HIV and AIDS and end all forms of violence against women and girls. Women Won't Wait seeks to accelerate effective responses to the linkages of violence against all women and girls and the spread of HIV by tracking and, where necessary, calling for changes in the policies, programming and funding streams of national governments and international multilateral and bilateral donor and technical agencies

4. Mobilisation in Peru: 05 June

“Pasacalle hacia la Embajada de Alemania. G8: Haz que la ayuda funcione. El mundo no puede esperar”. Included meeting with German Ambassador.

Strong gender message due to participation from GCAP members active in FTF.

5. Mobilisation in Argentina: 06 June

Foco, member of FTF, called for mobilization in Buenos Aires demanding the implementation of agreements reached by G8 members.
