Dear Nisha,
thank you very much for your interest.
The tribunal is at a very early stage of the preparations, but the colleagues in Asia are already in touch looking for ways to start the preparations. Your inputs will certainly be welcome.
We are still trying to come with a common concept as facilitation team, so we can replicate the experience in 4 regions.
The colleagues from Asia are the ones that are coordinating better as a region, so I think they will be sending some more information soon.
We look forward to your inputs.
Greetings,
Ana

  Dear Lysa, Sunila, and Ana,
Apologies, I have missed most part of this discussion but it seems that there is a proposal to organize a regional women's tribunal. If not inconvenient, could you please send some more information. I am writing from Afghanistan.
  Warmly
  nisha

Dear Lysa, dear Sunila, dear all, (Spanish below)
I think it is very exciting the way you are proposing to work in the organisation of the Women´s Tribunal in your region.
I would suggest that when, as a region, you have a proposal, you send it to the list and we can explore ways of supporting centrally from the FTF. We do have some funds for these events. We need to plan already how we are going to use these funds to ensure that all regions will be able to organise the tribunals. So it would be great to receive a draft budget from Asia and also from Josephine (for Egypt), from Rosa (for New York) and from Martha (for Peru). Also the contents are important to bring to the list so other women can bring in their comments and suggestions.
I look forward to your feedback. Thanks!
    Ana

    Saludos a todas,
    Ana

    Dear Sunila,
Thanks for this. Your message is in line with the thoughts shared by Chona (who hosts the South East, North & Central Asia Secretariat of GCAP) and Sharmila (Nepal) for exploring how we could develop this as a regional initiative.
Based on your inputs, it may be worthwhile to explore the formation of a regional core group who can provide the insights and perspective to develop the IWPT, and a local organizing committee - which possibly could also comprise a group of women's organizations & rights groups who can provide the groundwork for the initiative, and take forward the process & policy outcomes - in India.
Pam is currently traveling but has indicated that she will be back on 20th, which will enable us to discuss this further. I am also reverting to the Steering Group of the GCAP India campaign on this so that we can have some concrete proposal to move forward at the earliest.
    Best regards,
