Dear all,
queridas amigas (español abajo),

Thanks Chona for your prompt response. I think it is a bit confusing this 
issue of the e-communications, the communications and the media task forces. 
Maybe Rosa and Josephine who are in the structure group could clarify. But 
it si crucial that we have a representative at the group leading with the 
website and I understand it is you. So thanks for continuing with that task. 
I think it is important as it gives us visibility within GCAP.
Now, about our call yesterday:
unfortunately it was only Josephine, Rosa and myself. Some members of the 
team are not on Skype and others could not make it and from others I do not 
know whether they have or not a Skype name, for example Elizabeth, Martha 
and Lysa, please send me your contact in Skype if you have one.
In spite of being so few we did have a good meeting and agreed on a way 
forward taking into account that we had sent a funding proposal for USD 
122.000 and we only received USD 50.000. That means, of course, that we have 
to think of priorities on the one hand and of alternatives to look for more 
funding on the other.
So, in terms of priorities:
We had requested funds for:
- 8 March (already gone)
- 07.07.07
- 17 October: International Women´s Tribunal on Poverty (New York)
- 16 Days of Activism
- Plus a meeting for evaluation and forward looking.

Yesterday we felt that with the funds available we should prioritise the 17 
October and the International Women´s Tribunal, but rather than having it 
only in New York, we should aim at having others also in: (i) Egypt; (ii) 
India and (iii) Peru.
For that we need your feedback to know if you can organise it in those 
regions. Josephine has already agreed. We now need to know whether Lysa with 
the support of the other Asian colleagues can organise it in India and 
whether Luisa and Martha with the support of the other Latin Americans can 
organise it in Peru. We also need to get some feedback from you to know the 
costs in each of those countries.
I will work on a new budget on the basis of the money received so I need to 
get your feedback urgently to see if we can support the different regions. 
The costs should be for the local organisation, not for tickets. So please 
send me that information urgently. I also want to inform the whole list 
about our plans for 17 October so other women can join us in the 
preparations.

Simultaneously we will fundraise for the other activities, but ensuring a 
succesful 17 of October with a strong FTF activity in various regions is our 
priority.

I will try to organise another call after we finalise this process. Thanks 
in advance for sending the requested information.

Ayer tuvimos la llamada y lamentablemente fuimos sólo tres: Josephine, Rosa 
y yo. Algunas indicaron que no tienen acceso a Skype, otras que no podían, 
pero de varias no he tenido respuesta aún sobre si tienen o no dirección de 
Skype. Es el caso de Martha, Elizabeth y Lysa y les pido por favor que si 
tienen acceso a Skype me manden urgente vuestra dirección.
A pesar de que éramos pocas tuvimos una muy buena reunión y nos pusimos de 
acuerdo respecto a los próximos pasos, tomando en cuenta que presentamos una 
propuesta de financiación por USD 122.000 y sólo recibimos USD 50.000. Eso 
implica que debemos por un lado definir prioridades, y por otro, continuar 
con los esfuerzos de búsqueda de fondos.
En cuanto a las prioridades proponemos lo siguiente:
En nuestro presupuesto original pedíamos fondos para:
- el 8 de marzo (ya pasó)
- 07.07.07.
- 17 de octubre: Tribunal Internacional de Mujeres sobre la Pobreza (en 
Nueva York)
- 16 días de activismo
- Además de una reunión nuestra para evaluación y planificación futura

Lo que vimos ayer es que con los fondos disponibles debemos priorizar el 17 
de octubre y el Tribunal internacional, pero enn lugar de hacerlo sólo en 
Nueva York, organizarlo también en (i) Egipto, (ii) India y (iii) Perú.
Para eso necesitamos conocer vuestra opinión al respeco. Josephine ya ha 
dicho que sí. Ahora necesitamos saber si Lysa, con el apoyo de las colegas 
de Asia puede organizarlo en India y si Luisa y Martha con el apoyo de las 
otras latinoamericanas pueden organizarlo en Perú. También necesitamos que 
nos envíen una aproximación de los costos de esta actividad en vuestros 
países.
Yo voy a trabajar en un nuevo presupuesto teniendo en cuenta el monto 
recibido por lo que necesito urgente que me envíen las estimaciones de lo 
que pueden necesitar para organizarlo en vuestros países. Los fondos sólo 
serían para la organización local, no para pasajes. Les agradezco entonces 
que me envíen vuestra respuesta y la información lo más pronto que puedan. 
Además quiero hacer llegar la información sobre nuestros planes de los 
tribunales a toda la lista para que otras mujeres ya puedan sumarse a la 
organización.

Voy a organizar otra llamada después que culminemos este proceso. Gracias 
desde ya por mandarme la información requerida.
