Dear Yadi,
we are happy to tell you that there is a possibility for you to participate at the Indian tribunal. That means that you will go as respondent, so you will have to send your profile and plan input into the tribunal.
In order to secure your participation, we need to have the costs of the ticket urgently, to see if our funds are enough to cover that. Please send them to me by tomorrow, Friday!!!!
In terms of accommodation, Lysa mentioned that there will be common accommodation, even if the conditions are not the best but they will be good in terms of having all participants together and the experience will be important to share.
So, to move forward we need:
- for you to send your pofile and input to Lysa copy to me and Rosa
- for you to send immediately the costs of the ticket so we can confirm that the FTF is in a position to pay
- for you to send information to us on your organisation so we can share it with the listserve and inform everyone of this interesting experience of having African and Asian colleagues working together on this endeavour
- and of course you need to find out everything that has to do with visas and so on in case you need to aplly for one.

We would be delighted to have Yadi with us at the WTP. Infact it would also be great to have 1 FTF rep each from Africa, Asia & Latin America at this event!
I would be willing to forfeit the entire suppport from FTF for the national (and raise local resources) if it would enable such the travel costs to make this possible! We would take care of the stay.
This would also open new possibilities for media interaction, organizational exchanges, etc. within India.
Do go ahead with Yadi's plans to begin with - Yadi, can you share a brief profile so that I can inform the others too!

It will be important to decide who will be important to ensure that is there so we can use some of the funds to pay for the tickets. You must take a decision on whether it's better that someone from the Gambia travels or some other women from the region.

Thanks for this. It would be wonderful to have inter-regional representatives participate in Women's Tribunal. I would suggest that the representatives attend as Respondents, which will enable them to respond to the experiences being shared at the Tribunal with instances from their own country context and thus play a constructive role in the Tribunal.
However I do see funding as a constraint in enabling participation not only for the colleague from The Gambia, but also from Asia itself - several had written with similar requests earlier. At our end also we can try to see if we can raise any additional resources for the local event, which may free up some of the funding at the GCAP level for inter-regionl participation.
Secondly, the entire event is being hosted in the campsite of the Janadesh 2007, the facilities would be very basic - the participants would need to be mentally and physically prepared for that! The good part is that if they are able to withstand these conditons, then they can also come in several days earlier as there would be no additional cost for accomodation at the Janadesh site - now finalized at Rajghat, which is also marks the resting place and memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.

That's a great idea...... I remembered when you had the Women's Court of Shame in The Gambia during the 16 Days of Gender Activism as part of line activities for the occassion. The forum was covered by the National Radio and so many people called to thank us because of your association with GCAP- The Gambia, where you continue to play pivotal role as the gender focal person.
I concurred very well with you that the trip to India will give you more exposure to learn and share from your colleagues in that part of the world.Please pursue it and share the experience with your constituency back home.
I am at the moment focused on schooling but am following keenly all the correpondence and development on GCAP especially GCAP - women.
