Dear Rosa, dear Lysa,
dear all,
I think we have already a wonderful material that can help us with the guide. It is important that we start forming a small team that can work on this. Are there volunteers?

Dear Rosa, Joe
The Poverty Hearing guide circulated by Joe is quite nice and reader friendly. I am enclosing with this mail the notes of the Women's Tribunal that was held in India last year. You can download them from: http://groups.google.com/group/wtp-oct17/files
Regrets for not being in touch on the call / mails - as you know we are working towards the Parliamentarians' Summit on the MDGs and the 543 People's Manifesto hearings. We are working to compile a list of initiatives that could be showcased as part of the 50 Days of Action period and will send this across shortly.
Best, Lysa

Hi friends, Martha---espanol abajo--
We were sorry to miss you on Wednesday's call. We hope all is well. It's a busy time and some may be on holiday, so we hope to hear from you soon. Pursuant to Ana's message a couple of days ago, I wanted to forward this message from Joe Donlin, now working with GCAP/CIVICUS. He heard on a Mob Task Force call that the FTF is putting together a Women's Tribunals guide. He is also working on compiling a similar guide and shared with me a "how to...." guide he received from colleagues. So, I thought you all should know about this and to get our work going, I've provided an outline as per the guide's table of contents that Joe sent (I hope it forwards, if not let me know and I'll resend) to help with getting thoughts down about the process. This will be an invaluable tool for other groups and national coalitions. The outline is below. Please provide comments on this or any part of this message.
Warm regards,
Rosa

Querida Martha,

Dear Rosa,
Thanks for your quick response! I will be happy to hear from you once you have a chance to speak with your colleague regarding permission to release the research findings. I am betting that this would be included in the reports that are released as well, but information on the methodology of the research may also be useful.
And great to hear that we are both working to create useful guides for tribunals/hearings. Yes, let's definitely continue to correspond as progress is made on them. Have you seen this one guide by Church Action on Poverty? Attaching it here….It's a nice one to look at as we're developing our own. Have you come across any other models?
Be well,
Joe Donlin

Hi Joe,
Thanks for this. I have to get in touch with my colleague here and ask her about permission to release the research,...let me get back to you on this. Sounds like a good opportunity to include in the recommendations.
We have requested funding for a How to,... guidebook on women's tribunals, so we're basically working on the same thing! Ha! Well, we have some of our partners collecting information on this. We put the call out so we don't have much to show at the moment. I guess we could compare notes when we have it more developed. I agree, however, that this is needed. We thought we would have them available at the women's tribunals so that we can distribute them there. That's our goal. So, let's keep in touch about this as well.
Best regards,
Rosa

Dear Rosa,
Great to hear about the women's tribunal in New York on today's MDG/Project 2015 telecall. As mentioned, it would be great to see the research done by your partners at NYU with women living in poverty in the NY area. It may be content that we can reference and include in a recommendation document for September 23/25, supplementing shadow reports and poverty hearing testimonies. I would very much appreciate it if you could share this with me.
Also, I am working with the African Monitor and others on developing a "How to…" guide on poverty hearings. Given the vast experience FTF has with tribunals, perhaps you have already developed a guide/toolkit? Any documents that may be of assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much for your help,
Joe Donlin
