Subject: RE: IWD- Arab Region opportunities

Dear Ciara, Dear all,

Thank you for following up on this and putting us in contact with Saima in
UAE,

I have discussed the points raised through our phone call with Diana and
Ziad (our director) here at ANND office

We are starting to contact national coalitions in the Arab region to
identify women leaders who are interested to connect to this event (either
through participating or through contributing to the statement to be
developed).

For now, I can tell you that the Jordanian coalition is actually organizing
around March 8th

[WINDOWS-1252?]We are also starting to develop framework for a two page
statement that can be issued on that occasion; in that regards I suggest if
possible that the Feminist Task Force take the lead to develop the point
related to the overall global position of GCAP on women's issues and we
would develop specific points related to women in the Arab region focusing
on women’s role in development and conditions of women’s rights and gender
justice
in the region. Then we can put this together as a draft and to share with
the group of women activists active within GCAP in the region.

Please note that you will shortly recieve from me a short note on the
proposition for collaboration to share with Every Human Has Rights.

Hope this helps

Thanks
