[Ftffacilitationteam] Meeting in The Hague

Dear friends,
I had a very good meeting with Irfan where I clarified the purpose and 
participation of the meeting in The Hague. It is a staff meeting, including 
those working for the regional secretariats. So there will be no 
constituencies attending and that is why the FTF has not been invited. They 
will be looking though at central topics that will keep GCAP involved during 
2008 and one of these topics is gender and inequality. They were counting on 
my participation for a presentation on this topic, so as I am not going, 
Irfan asked me who could do that presentation. We talked about two 
possibilities: Nerea, who has been invited for the 28th, but Irfan suggested 
that if she can stay for the 30th, day on which the presentation takes 
place, it would be great. Or she can decide just to participate on the 30th. 
The other option is Chona, as Irfan confirmed that he managed to secure a 
visa for her so she is finally attending. I said I was going to write to the 
facilitation team list to find out your opinion and also see if either Nerea 
or Chona are willing to make this presentation. If you can answer by 
tomorrow it would be great so I can give Irfan an answer. It would be 
important that a member of the FTF makes the presentation. 
So, thanks Lysa for making the offer to go, but as you said, it is not the 
type of meeting for constituencies. And I hope that Nerea or Chona will be 
able to make the presentation.
