Thanks, Ana. These are great suggestions. I'm printing this out to take
with me and make more notes.
A question for the rest---how has your work been with the regional
secretariats mentioned by Ana below? Can you give feedback?
Best,
Rosa

Portugal
Dear Rosa,
thank you very much for this information.
I think that one aspect to be taken into account for mobilisation 2010 is
the information sent by Luisa about the Global March of Women on 8 March
next year. I think that GCAP should join in this.
In terms of points to highlight on work done by constituencies, I think is
important from our side all the work done in relation to the financial
crisis (WWG on FfD, UNCTAD, hearings in NY, etc.) and our involvement in
climate change (being members of the advocacy team of GGCA, participation in
Bonn, women and climate change tribunals, planned participation at COP 15,
etc.).
I think is important that you share our last plan of action for 2009-2010.
I am attaching it to this message.
And finally, I think is important to highlight our efforts to coordinate
with the regional secretariats and the little response we have had from
there.
This is crucial if we think that next year Oxfam Novib will not fund us
directly but as part of the global GCAP work.
I hope this helps Rosa, and I also hope there will be comments from all
Facilitation Team members.
Warm greetings,
Ana

Subject: GCAP Global Council & Global Foundation meetings next week in
Portugal
Hi all,
As mentioned in my other email, I will be travelling to Portugal next week
for both the Global Foundation 1 Sept.) and the Global Council (2-4 Sept.)
face-to-face meetings. I am attaching the agenda of the GC meeting (the GF
agenda has not been confirmed) and request any input. If there is anyone I
should be talking to, networking with, let me know. Please note the
sections on:
Review of the Current Political Context:
Analysis of the current global and regional political context of poverty
and inequality across GCAP's 7 areas of work: public accountability, gender
justice, aid, debt, trade, climate justice, peace and security
With an emphasis on:
- changes since the last global council meeting
- regional specificities
- implications for national level campaigningkey risks and
opportunities in 2010-2011 -- is there anything here you'd like to highlight?
Also, see:
Review of the GCAP Strategic Plan 2009-11:
- progress in the past year from each region in each of the 7
areas of work
- linking expected outcomes to political context and national
level campaigning
Day 2: Thursday, September 3
Constituencies, Taskforces & Working Groups:
Strategic inputs to issues / reports from Constituency & Working Groups,
namely the Feminist Taskforce, Children & Youth Taskforce, the Social
Exclusion Taskforce, the Mobilization Taskforce and the Learning &
Accountability Group
--- is there anything here you'd like to highlight?
Ways of Working
Key learnings on internal processes and ways of working of different
constituencies, taskforces, and working groups.
Priority Setting for 2010:
Looking at Strategic Plan for 2010 and guiding priority-setting,
particularly around the Mobilization Plan for 2010 and the next GCAP Global
Assembly
--is there anything here you'd like to highlight?
Action Plan for Oct-Dec 2009:
Looking specifically at the action plan around SUTA in October ‘09 as well
as mobilizations towards the Copenhagen Summit in December.
Also, it would be great to know if anyone else is going!! Please let me
know!
Warm regards,
Rosa
