Dear Rosa: I think is great to have another person as FTF rep in the CCQG.
So please go ahead and add her name. Also someone from Africa or asia region
should be great.

 Un abrazo

Thanks, Marcela, for this information. I thought Ben had done work on
it. He's excellent on the issues and good on incorporating gender so it would
be good to add the gender perspective.

Yes, I do recall that message and had wanted to ask Ana about it in
Belem but it slipped my mind. As far as I know, we did not formally add on
anyone else to the CCWG, although I do think that Marta Benavides (she was
also in Belem) is an appropriate candidate and has participated on some Mob.
Task Force calls, so she is well-involved and versed in FTF/GCAP. I think
she was a candidate before but we wanted representation from other regions. I
think we can formally invite her. She's actually in New York so I may be able
to talk to her while she is here. Should we go ahead and do that? She has
the background and experience on sustainable development issues since before
1992 and is partnering with Moema on CC and environment issues in Brazil.

I do think we need to recruit someone from one of the other regions.
Does anyone have any ideas?

	Best regards,
	Rosa

		Dear Marcela,

I think overall this is good. The language needs to be
cleaned-up a bit,
with an eye towards consistency in particular e.g Climate
Change or climate
change). Who has written it? In first instance I see no
mention of gender,
		for
example, even in the Background on the role of women which
was elemental in
'92, and framing it within the context of sustainable
development. Would be
good to include some language on the links with gender.
Also, until the
		end,
there is no connection with the critical issue at the moment
- the financial

and economic crisis, funding for climate change. In Doha
this was included
		in
the Outcome Document, so it is very relevant to the
discussions today. I
think the Face-to-Face should be worded more emphatically:
"The group
		strongly
suppports/encourages a Face to Face meeting in 2009 to
consolidate its
leadership for this group". --- or whatever point to stress.

I think there maybe a better way of addressing the vast
importance of the
issue rather stating it in what may be interpreted as an
assumption ---yet,
		not
to diminish the importance of the issue--

It is widely acknowledged by the development, environment
and human rights
community that climate change is one of, or the, critical
issue in 2009.
Perhaps, " It is widely acknowledged by the development,
environment and
human rights community that climate change is one of most
critical issues for

2009, with many arguing it is the top issue to tackele in
2009."
As the world's largest social movement with coalitions in
more than 100
countries, we believe it is vital that GCAP adds its weight
and mobilisation

potential to the growing movement on climate change in 2009.

It's hard to measure these, hard to say " the world's
largest" without
inviting criticism. I'm not even sure you mean GCAP or
climate change
		followers.
Just needs to be clarified. Better to write " As one of the
world's largest

		social movements,..."

And finally, remind me who are the members of the CCWG
because I only see
your name below. I think we had three spaces.

		Hope this is helpful.

		Saludos,
		Rosa
