Dear Ana, Rosa & FTF friends,

So sorry to have missed out on all the discussions and telecalls over
the past few weeks, and am responding collectively to this and other
mails.

But firstly, let me thank you for taking so seriously the news about
my transition. I almost fell off my chair to read that it was being
discussed in the FTF group and Global Council. I did not intend to do
a formal farewell note until I had a chance to also introduce my
replacement to GCAP, but I do need to come in here to say - and not
for the first time - that the FTF has had such an important role to
play in my journey from being an overwhelmed outsider (read Beirut
Meeting) to finding my path, friends and politics with the GCAP
network.

This mail really reinforces all the reasons behind this connect for
me, and makes me want to explore with both the India campaign & the
FTF for the possibility of continuing to be a part of the Feminist
Taksforce in the coming year.

Coming back to the work agenda, I am delighted to hear that we will be
working closely with SWI to look at a global framework on Women &
Poverty investments and policies. I am sure the India coalition would
want to play an active role in this agenda - do keep us informed &
involved.

I am also happy to share that as part of the annual plans of Wada Na
Todo in the next 2 years, we have integrated the Women's Tribunal as
an annual feature on October 17th - with a flexibiilty to select the
theme that would be most relevant for the campaign (WNTA & GCAP)
agenda. If there is any early thinking on this, it would be good to
publicize the same across coalitions so that many of those who had
shown interest across regions could strart planning accordingly.

Finally in relation to March 8th and G20, as you may know we have
undertaken a first of its kind, extensive process of building a
grassroots agenda aiming to cover 547 parliamentary constituencies of
India - as a preparation towards the National Elections that are being
held in April. In the coming week, we will be releasing to the media
the demands that have emerged from 200 parliamentary constituences
where the meetings have already taken place.

In continuation of this agenda we are working to compile and release
the Women's Charters & related Demands that have also been released
across constituencies as part of this process. I believe this could
provide an important base for demands in the context of G20. My
colleague Suman Dasgupta who is on the G20 group is also talking to
specific partners of Wada Na Todo on the possibility for joint action
on 1 April as part of the Global Action date. We will keep you updated
accordingly.

Best regards,
Lysa
