Subject: Transition from Wada Na Todo Abhiyan

Dear Lysa,

it was a surprise to us all to receive your message announcing that you will
be leaving Wada Na Todo Abhiyan and the coordination of the GCAP work. As
Feminist Task Force we first of all want to wish you all the best in your
next commitment, wherever you go, and we are sure you will contribute to
transformation with the same enthusiasm you have done as an active and
committed member of GCAP and the FTF. We want to thank you for your
contribution to our network as women working towards gender equality for the
eradication of poverty. In particular we want to thank you for your
contribution to developing the idea and the implementation of the FTF
poverty tribunals. These tribunals had a great impact in those who presented
testimonies, in those who heard and tried to act in response, and in the
public at large that was sensitise in a very unique way of the sufferings,
but also of the constant struggle and hope, of women in India, in Peru, in
Egypt, in New York and in so many other places around the world.

We were happy to have you as one of our members in the facilitation team and
hope that wherever you go you will be able to continue to be a member of the
Feminist Task Force.

A big hug from all of us at the Facilitation Team!

Subject: RE: Transition from Wada Na Todo Abhiyan

Dear Helena, Irfan, Ciara, Julien, Oyebisi, Rosa, Ana, Chona, Ben, Sarah,
Katsuji & Henri,

Helena & Julien, thanks for connecting on the MTF agenda. I think this is a
good time to share the conversations within Wada Na Todo Abhiyan about my
own transition from the campaign secretariat. Our core programs for the year
2008-09 will be wrapped up by April end and I have accordingly have planned
to move out at this time, which also marks the completion of 3 years of my
engagement with the Wada Na Todo secretariat. We have just put out an ad for
a new Campaign Co-ordinator and expect that we would be able to find a
replacement for the position by April.

I would continue to relate to the planning and activities of GCAP till this
time while also working with the Campaign Steering Group to identify other
focal points within the campaign for spaces such as the MTF, FTF, etc who
could take forward this engagement and work closely with the new Campaign
Co-ordinator on this agenda post-April. My colleague Suman Dasgupta is
already engaging actively with the Climate Change & G20 task groups.

However this mail is really to share that I do leave with a sense of great
pride in what has been collectively accomplished by Wada Na Todo Abhiyan &
GCAP in this period; deep gratitude for the insights, experiences and
relationships that have been built; and great optimism for the future of the
campaign. I do want to thank each one of you for being such great friends
and co-travelers in this period- and assure you of a very special place in
my heart (and hopefully by now also on my Facebook - please sign up if you
haven't already!). I l also look forward to many more opportunities to
engage with each of you - and with the added excitement of new destinations
and perspectives.

Lots of love,

Lysa
