Great to know that GCAP is supporting for the climate change tribunals.As Nepal is also one of the most vulnerable countries on Climate change and its effects. So is there any possiblility to add Nepal now in the proposal for organizing a women's tribunal on Climate Change.

  We finally received the confirmation that GCAP has received funding for supporting some of its coalitons and constituencies for the organisation of tribunals/hearings on climate change. We need to present a proposal if we want to be among the constituencies that will receive support for the tribunals. As you know we have already agreed on having one tribunal in Belem do Para, in Brazil, in the framework fo the International Civil Society Forum that will take place on 29 and 30 November. We have also received confirmation that the tribunal in India will be in November. We must now agree on where we are going to organise other tribunals, also in preparation for the one in Belem. It is important for us to be able to have one in Africa, though we must identify a partner organisation. It must be in subSaharan Africa, as we have already organised a tribunal in Northern Africa but none in sub Sahara. In Europe we have Luisa who can help organising one, but we need to identify whether Switzerland is the right place to organise one, or if we should try East Europe. 
  I am copying below from the agreement between Oxfam GB and GCAP so you can see objectives and criteria. 
  To discuss this, Rosa and I are suggesting to have a call on Wednesday 22 July. Rosa will organise the conference call. But we need your comments before so we can prepare the proposal. We can look at it at the call on Wednesday.

  1.1   Project output:
  The grant is made as a contribution to assist selected GCAP National Coalitions in carrying out (one or more) Climate Hearings as part of their Climate Change Campaigning. Although the aim is to facilitate hearings for countries that are most vulnerable to climate change, consideration will be given to strong applications from northern countries. Applications from constituency groups (e.g. feminist task force; children and youth task force; trade unions) will also be considered. 

  1.1   Key Objectives:

  The objectives of the project are:

  Ø      Raising community-level awareness about climate problems and solutions

  Ø      Offering affected people opportunities to influence climate change negotiations at a national and regional level

  Ø      Ensuring the voice of southern civil society is heard in the climate change negotiations 

  Selection criteria: 

    1.. The proposal must come from an active national coalition or constituency group with a previous track record of impactful anti-poverty campaigning in their country/constituency, including mass mobilization 
    2.. The proposal must demonstrate a strong link between climate change campaigning and other GCAP strategic objectives 
    3.. The proposal must include a clear description of how the hearing would contribute to leveraging political pressure at a national and/or regional level, and at an international level where relevant 
    4.. There must be a clear explanation of how the national coalition will include mass mobilisation as the main or significant element of their proposal, and confirm that numbers attending any mass mobilisation events will be counted and these numbers (rather than the data) is forwarded on to the Global Campaign for Climate Action to contribute to a global total for Copenhagen 
    5.. Each proposal must include a plan for communicating the climate hearing(s) to a wide audience, including the use of media work, and creating high quality footage/images of the testimony given at the hearing(s). 
    6.. The proposal must demonstrate how campaigning on climate change in that country/constituency group will be sustained after the hearing 
    7.. The proposal must include a sound monitoring and evaluation plan 
    8.. If possible, the proposal must include a link between climate change campaigning and the Stand Up 2009 mobilisation
