Dear all,
please look at the message below with the request to prepare a thematic contribution on Women´s Rights and gender justice as central issue for poverty eradication. I think of course that we should present this paper for the Assembly but I would very much like it that it is not an individual paper I write, or Rosa writes, but a collective reflection of the FTF. As it is requested that the paper looks at what has happened in the last three years and the major issues and challenges ahead, I think it is important that the views from all regions, from all of you who have been active in the FTF, is reflected in this paper.
I look forward then to your comments. And please remember that the paper should be ready by 5 September.
Thanks!
Ana

Subject: Requesting Thematic Contributions for GCAP Assembly
Dear Amitabh, Ana, Dennis & Glen:
Warm Greetings! We are taking the liberty of writing to you together as members of the Global Assembly Committte - and to now request you to confirm your availability to submit the requested Discussion Paper for the Global Assembly; and hope it will be possible for you to oblige even within the short time available.
As you know, the GCAP Global Assembly will be an all-important opportunity to discuss and define GCAP’s future strategies and direction. As a key input to this discussion, we are collecting thematic papers that will help address key issues and strategic challenges for GCAP in the next few years.
In this context, we are writing to request your involvement in developing a brief one-pager on a Strategic Theme as listed below. The paper would need to address:
a) The key changes / developments that have taken place in the last three years wrt. the given Strategic Theme;
b) The major issues, challenges and opportunities that can be addressed by GCAP in the next three-five years
Please confirm your availability to take on this request by responding to this letter. Do note that we would require to receive your input no later than 05 September 2010 to enable us to circulate the same in advance of the Global Assembly, and hope that it will be possible for you to accept this responsibility even in the short time available.
In solidarity,
Caitlin Blaser / Lysa John
