I'm truly sorry for being out of the loop for so long as the dust is still settling on the culmination of our earlier events and advocacy towards the Budget Session of Parliament 2007.
<br><br>I am writing to brief you of the plans for WNTA action on International Women's Day. We are planning to mark the date of March 8th this year by releasing a report containing perspective papers on the National Common Minimum Program (the key policy commitments of the national government) and its outcomes for women.
<br><br>This is planned as a 20-25 page booklet, tentatively titled '<span style="font-weight: bold;">Engendering Governance - Strengthening the Outcomes of NCMP through Women's Participation & Leadership'
</span> which will contain reviews of the NCMP and its 3 flagship schemes on the Right to Work, Right to Health & Right To Education - from a gender perspective by noted experts and leaders of the women's movement on the subject.
<br><br>We are proposing <span style="font-weight: bold;">a simultaneous release of this Perspective Report across states and across organizations on the International Women's Day on March 8th, 2007.
</span>We are also seeing this as an occasion to strengthen our support to and engagement with women's groups & networks across the national and state levels.
<br><br>We also propose to follow this up with a 'National Dialogue on Engendering the NCMP & MDGs' in collaboration with key government agencies and networks a few months later.<br><br>We will keep you updated on further developments. An agenda on the identification of members to link to the FTF across national coalitions in Asia has also been included for our upcoming GCAP Asia meeting. Chona could share more on this.
