Have also shared our experience that for mobilization, a set of dates (even if 2-3 days together) works better for national coalitions than a single date, particularly in light of future events.

Dear Ana, Please find enclosed the additions to the Nairobi meet. I regret the delay. Since most of it was documented on the charts, my notes were also not making any sense to me till I could see the rest of it through your documentation.

Rosa, I am also writing to brief you on the just concluded MTF telecon:

Agenda 1: Guiness Record
There was a consensus that the responses show that partners want to go beyond the Guinness Discussion and look at what the Whiteband Day will mean for GCAP in relation to policy asks and advocacy outcomes. I have also added while Stand Up/ Guiness can be one of the options offered to national coalitons - as already suggested by MTF - we should now define a more substantive agenda for the globlal action/ outcome for October 17th. (Note too that last year Stand Up was held on 15-16th Oct, and not as the culminting event of 17th Oct). This was also supported and is being added to the final note that is being sent to the IFT.

Agenda 2: Toolkit
Have said that we will get back with the Gender inputs. In keeping with the outcomes of previous agenda, have also suggested the GCAP objectives and outcomes should be emphasized, and actions should not be highlighted as stand alone events but as building momentum towards October 17th. Also the Why (as in Why We are Mobilizing) should be emphasized, not just the How (How We Will Mobilize). I have also offered to send my inputs to this in writing to Ben.

Agenda 3: Montevideo
Have represented the view that representation should consider active members and southern coalitions - in relation to some representatives who may be able to fund themselves. However the major point of discussion here was that all 3 nominees from MTF are men and the group felt that it is important for a woman member of the FTF to also be represented.
It was decided that members could get back over the weekend and 1 of the 3 men who have been identified could volunteer to step down in favour of a woman rep. The final decison will be communicated to GCAP Secretariat on Tuesday.

(Note: I think it would be worthwhile for the FTF member (Rosa) to suggest her nomination, as this would also open up 1 space within the FTF reps. If it is not too late would also request you to consider a regional balance among the FTF representatives as I note that there is no one from Asia on our list of representatives. We had been holding back so far because we did not want to add to the list that has already come up.)

Agenda 4: Climate Change
Have said that Rosa will get back to Ben with details of Moema (who was identified in the Nairobi meeting). I have also taken responsibility to get back to the Asia group to ask them to provide a point person for this to work with Ben.

Best regards,
Lysa John (India)

---------------------------------------------------------
WADA NA TODO Abhiyan
National Campaign Secretariat
C-1/E, Second Floor, Green Park Extension
New Delhi 110 016 INDIA
Tel: 91-11-46082371; Fax - 91-11-46082372
info@wadanatodo.net / www.wadanatodo.net
------------------------------------------------------------

--
Best regards,
Lysa John
National Campaign Co-ordinator
---------------------------------------------------------
WADA NA TODO Abhiyan
National Campaign Secretariat
C-1/E, Second Floor, Green Park Extension
New Delhi 110 016 INDIA
Tel: 91-11-46082371; Fax - 91-11-46082372
info@wadanatodo.net / www.wadanatodo.net
------------------------------------------------------------

i'm making a difference.
