[Gcap-mujeres] Reenvio consulta de Kumi

Estimadas amigas,

Acabo de recibir este mensaje de Kumi Naidoo en el que nos invita a los 
miembros de EFI a dar nuestra opinion sobre la propuesta de enviar otra 
persona de GCAP a una reunion en Nueva York a la que Kumi fue invitado (los 
detalles estan en el mensaje que sigue y en la carta adjunta). La respuesta 
hay que enviarla antes de manhana a las 5 GMT. El tema concretamente es la 
formacion de un grupo de trabajo para apoyar al Presidente de la Asamblea 
General de la ONU a decidir sobre la seleccion de organismos de la sociedad 
civil que participaran en la evaluacion del proceso de Naciones Unidas 
referido a los Paises Menos Desarrollados. Kumi fue invitado y no puede ir, 
por lo que propone a Rasheda Choudhury de CAMPE en Bangladesh. Desea saber 
si apoyamos su propuesta o si queremos proponer a alguien alternativo. Pense 
que tal vez alguna de ustedes tenga un interes especial y venga siguiendo el 
tema de los Paises Menos Desarrollados por lo que quizas deseen proponer a 
otra persona. Si asi fuera, les agradezco me envien la propuesta antes de 
manhana a las 5 GMT y se la reenviare a Kumi.

Please find below a message Kumi has asked me to forward to the current
interim IFT list. A full IFT list will be set up very shortly as soon as
the final regional names are in - it will have all of the contact details

I am writing because we have a small but urgent matter to address. I
received an invite to be a representative on the advisory panel planning
the Civil Society forum around the LDC process in the UN (see attached).
Though the letter was sent a couple of weeks ago I have only received it
on getting back to the office in Johannesburg today after the Beirut
meeting.

I would like to propose that someone else takes my place. As I received
the invite in my capacity as chair of the International Facilitation Group
of GCAP I wanted to check my decision with you all.

I want to propose Rasheda Choudhury from CAMPE in Bangladesh as someone
who was very active around the GCAP presence at the UN last September and
she is one of the leads for the Asia region. She was also very active
around the WTO. However if anyone wants to suggest other names please do
so within the next 24 hours. If I receive no other names I will confirm
Rasheda, if there is more than one name ? I will suggest a quick process
to resolve the matter.

Whoever is put forward I will stress in my reply to Jan Eliasson that they
are NOT a GCAP representative, but merely someone from within GCAP who can
help advise on the process.

As even the interim IFT is not yet fully confirmed, this e-mail list is
not yet complete and this decision is not a formal one. Given the urgency
(if we don?t confirm someone now then we will miss the opportunity
altogether) we need to decide this matter before we get the full interim
IFT list set up so I thought it was better to consult informally with this
partial list now.

For those of you waiting ? an e-mail about the first IFT meeting will come
round as soon as the interim regional reps are decided later this week.

I would like to set a deadline of 24 hours as the decision needs to be
made very quickly and this isn?t a big decision as it is only to be an
advisor on a panel deciding who should come to the Civil Society meeting
consultation on 21st June. Replies need to be received by 5pm GMT Wed.

Roberto Bissio is already on the panel as Social Watch and others in GCAP
may be on the panel too, though I do not have this list.
