Dear friends of the FTF

I am most happy to see the final list and I congratulate the group for holding this dynamic participatory and transparent consultation process. I have always insisted that the ethics of the groups has been making the difference in the GCAP alliance

I will not be able to attend the GCAP meeting , I will be on leave. There will be another collegue of AAI but I will make sure he knows your issues and suggestions before the meeting

Best from sunny Rio!

Subject: [Gcap-women] Reunion de Montevideo - meeting

Estimadas colegas, dear colleagues, (English below)

******************************************************************************************

The Facilitation Team of the FTF has finalize the list for the Montevideo meeting, including the Secretariat "global support group" meeting on May 6th, as well as the CRIAW Forum in Ottawa.

Montevideo meeting:

After numerous consultations with members of the Facilitation Team (FT) and others, the following four names (the initial 3 slots plus one under the auspices of the Secretariat meeting) have been selected to represent the FTF at the Montevideo meeting:

- Rosa Lizarde, alternate member of the IFT / North America

- Prisca Kambole, member of the FT of the FTF representing Southern Africa

- Josephine Kamel, member of the FT of the FTF representing the Middle East

- Marta Rico, Flora Tristan, Peru representing FTF Latin America

This has been a difficult process with numerous consultations and this was the formulation that seems to work best. We are trying to maximize the points of engagement to have a strong representation of the FTF at the meeting. The name of the rep attending the May 6th meeting will be finalized today but will be one of the above.

Furthermore, because there are two others who have expressed an interest in going, we will be exploring the option of having both come as observers either as FTF or their regional/nationa coalitions. Susana Checa, from FOCO, Argentina attend the meeting as an observer. Another representative of FOCO will be there as a regional rep and the price of a ticket is not as expensive coming from Argentina to Uruguay and no visa requirements for those from LAC. Also, We will be exploring options to have Marianela Carvajal Diaz, de GCAP - DR attend since she and her organization, CIPAF, have been active with GCAP for a long time, she represents youth and has served on the Mobilization Task Force.

CRIAW Forum

Pam Rajput will be attending the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women Forum in Ottawa on behalf of the FTF. The CRIAW is organizing a national forum on "Women Resisting Poverty and Exclusion: Alternative Visions and Practices."

Thanks to all for your interest and support in this effort.

Saludos,

Rosa and Ana (out on holiday this week/en vacaciones esta semana)
