Hoy tuvimos la llamada del Consejo Global del GCAP y uno de los puntos principales era tomar decisiones sobre el foco de la movilización central que como ustedes saben es en octubre, 16, 17 y 18. La propuesta es que a nivel global el foco central sea cambio climático y su relación con pobreza pero cada coalición nacional y equipo de trabajo puede darle el énfasis y ocuparse de los temas que entienda prioritarios. El primer día de "Levántate" será el día 1 de los 50 días hasta la conferencia de Copenhague. Se sugirió en la llamada que siguiendo las acciones virtuales que hemos hecho como ETF (20 días para el G20 y díez días de acción hacia la conferencia de Naciones Unidas sobre la crisis) GCAP organice una acción similar dado que les han parecido excelentes nuestras dos acciones. Se resolvió hacerlo semanal en lugar de diario, ya que son 50 días. 
Aprovecho a comentarles que como ETF nuestra acción central serán los tribunales sobre género y cambio climático. Ya están confirmados dos, uno en noviembre en India y el otro también en noviembre (el 30) en Belem do Pará. Les haremos llegar más información sobre los tribunales, pero sería bueno saber si algunas de ustedes tienen interés en que se organicen tribunales sobre género y cambio climático en vuestros países. En el caso de América Latina ya ha indicado interés en trabajar en conjunto el Secretariado regional de GCAP que en este momento está en Chile. Aún debemos conversar con ellos sobre cómo lo haremos.

Dear friends,
today we had the call of the GCAP Global Council. One of the main items of the agenda was to take decisions on the key focus of the main mobilisation of October, Stand Up, that will take place on 16, 17 and 18. The proposal is that at the global level the key focus will be climate change and its relation to poverty, but each coalition and constituency can focus on the topics they think are priorities for their work. The first day of Stand Up will be the first day of the 50 days to Copenhagen. It was suggested in the call that GCAP organises virtual actions similar to the ones the FTF organised like the 20 days to the G20 and the 10 Days of Action to the UN Conference on the crisis. It was agreed to have weekly actions rather than daily as the period is of 50 days. 
I take this opportunity to tell you that the main action for the FTF will be the tribunals on gender and climate change. We have two tribunals already confirmed, both in November, the first one in India, and the second one, on the 30th of November, in Belem do Para, Brazil. We will send you more information on the tribunals but it would be great to hear from you if any of you/your organisations are interested in organising a tribunal in your country. The Latin American Secretariat has indicated their interest in working closely with us on this. We hope to hear soon from the Europe Secretariat. There was no one from Africa in the call so that is a region where we still need to explore possibilities.
