participación de delegaciones de los 192 estados miembros de la Organización

resoluciones</B> que destacan la necesidad de asegurar el acceso universal a la

universal en atención de salud materna, neonatal e infantil</SPAN></I><SPAN
lang=ES-UY style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; mso-ansi-language: ES-UY">, demanda
específicamente de los estados miembros que “establezcan o mantengan metas
nacionales e internacionales, y que instituyan mecanismos de monitoreo para
medir el progreso hacia el logro de los objetivos acordados, en particular la
meta de acceso universal a la salud reproductiva en el año 2015”. <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Acelerar el logro de los objetivos de
desarrollo relacionados con la salud acordados internacionalmente </I>requiere
de los estados que desarrollen estrategias nacionales específicas para los
objetivos de salud “incluidos los que figuran en la Declaración del Milenio y el
objetivo de acceso universal a la salud reproductiva en el año 2015 establecido
por la Conferencia Internacional de Naciones Unidas sobre Población y
Desarrollo”. Vinculado con esto, la resolución también pide a los gobiernos que
establezcan o mantengan “mecanismos nacionales de monitoreo para medir el avance

Exteriores</B> de la Unión Europea adoptó Conclusiones del Consejo llamadas <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Acelerando el progreso hacia el logro de los
Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio</I>. Las conclusiones, que son legalmente
vinculantes para los países miembros de la Unión Europea, establecen: “La Unión
Europea reconoce además que los ODM no pueden ser alcanzados si no hay avances
en la meta de Cairo respecto a salud y derechos sexuales y reproductivos
universales. Conforme con las conclusiones del Consejo de noviembre de 2004, la
UE trabajará por lo tanto para asegurar que este vínculo quede apropiadamente
reflejado en el resultado del Encuentro de Alto Nivel de setiembre de 2005. En
ese marco, la UE apoya vigorosamente que un proceso técnico posterior examine la
mejor manera de incorporar las metas relacionadas y monitorear los indicadores

dignidad y el imperativo de la acción colectiva”. El Secretario General incluyó
un anexo en su informe con propuestas para la consideración de los Jefes de
Estado y/o de Gobierno que sienta las bases para el primer borrador de la

de los cuales es ampliar el acceso a los servicios y la información en salud
sexual y reproductiva y cerrar la brecha en financiación a los insumos de salud

y la Unión Europea discutieron la necesidad de garantizar el acceso universal a
los servicios y la información en salud sexual y reproductiva</B> de manera de
lograr los ODM. Muchos países, así como el Grupo de África, el G-77 y China,
enfatizaron que para alcanzar los ODM también es necesaria la implementación del
Programa de Acción de la CIPD y de la Declaración y Plataforma de Acción de
