MITIGACIÓN DESASTRE TERREMOTO ICA<BR>AGOSTO 2007<BR></STRONG><BR>Acciones de
Solidaridad Urgentes frente a la Emergencia del Terremoto:<BR><BR>Un terremoto
de gran magnitud se produjo en la costa peruana el día 15 de agosto del 2007 a
las 18:41 hora peruana (23:41 GMT). Según los institutos de geofísica se estima
en 7.9 en la escala de Ritcher. Los reportes preliminares indican hasta ahora
como mínimo un saldo de 350 personas muertas y más de 900 heridas. A las 01.00
horas del día de hoy, 16 de agosto, se produjeron maretazos y un pequeño tsunami
en las áreas costeras que afectó en especial a los pescadores
artesanales.<BR><BR>Las zonas costeras más golpeadas son:<BR><BR>- Cañete: En el
Departamento de Lima: Cerro Azul, San Vicente de Cañete, Imperial Cañete. No se
conoce aún la situación en localidades más al interior como Lunahuaná, Zúñiga,
Yauyos.<BR><BR>- Chincha: Departamento de Ica: Chincha Baja, Chincha Alta, Tambo
de Mora, Alto Larán. No se conoce la situación en localidades montañosas en el
límite con Huancavelica.<BR><BR>- Pisco: Departamento de Ica: San Clemente,
Pisco Pueblo, Pisco Playa, San Andrés, Paracas. No se conoce la situación en
localidades del interior.<BR><BR>- Ica: Departamento de Ica: Ciudad de Ica,
Guadalupe, San Juán Bautista, Los Molinos, Tinguiña, Tate. No se conoce la
situación en localidades del interior.<BR><BR>- Lima: Callao, Distritos de la
costa verde, Barrios Altos: Derrumbe de techos viviendas, inundaciones en La
Punta Callao, daño a embarcaciones de pesca artesanal. Derrumbes en la carretera
central en la zona de San Jerónimo de Surco
(Matucana)<BR><BR><STRONG>Efectos</STRONG>:<BR><BR>Colapsaron los servicios de
Agua, electricidad y telefonía. En todas las zonas mencionadas. En el sur, desde
Cañete a Ica, aún no se ha restablecido el servicio. No hay comunicación
eficiente.<BR><BR>Los Hospitales de Pisco e Ica han colapsado por derrumbe de
edificaciones y saturación de la demanda de servicios de emergencia.<BR><BR>En
la medida que se tenga más información, luego de la remoción de escombros, y
acceso a los lugares apartados y aislados, es muy probable que el número de
fallecidos y heridos se incremente.<BR><BR>Los estimados de las autoridades
locales indican que en Pisco se han destruido el 50% de las viviendas, en
especial las antiguas construcciones de adobe y quincha (barro y
caña).<BR><BR>Las poblaciones no cuentan con agua para beber, ropa e implementos
de abrigo como frazadas, alimentos, medicinas.<BR><BR>Hubo conatos de saqueo y
pillaje en algunas zonas. Aparentemente ha funcionado cierto control
policial.<BR><BR><STRONG>Acciones inmediatas</STRONG>:<BR><BR>El Ministerio de
Salud está destacando profesionales y algo de medicinas a las zonas afectadas.
La Municipalidad de Lima está desplazando sus “Hospitales de la Solidaridad” a
las zonas afectadas.<BR><BR>Las municipalidades distritales están disponiendo
mecanismos para la sepultura de fallecidos. Las familias de escasos recursos
están conduciendo a los cadáveres a las municipalidades demandando apoyo para
sepultura.<BR><BR>La Iglesia Católica, a través de sus servicios nacionales de
Pastoral Social, ha dispuesto que su entidad especializada, CARITAS PERU, dirija
e impulse los esfuerzos de la Iglesia y personas e instituciones de buena
voluntad para enfrentar la emergencia de manera solidaria.<BR><BR>Cuando ocurren
desastres como el actual, la Comisión Episcopal de Acción Social - CEAS siempre
se pone a disposición de Cáritas del Perú para colaborar en todo lo humanamente
posible.<BR><BR>CEAS está colaborando con Cáritas del Perú en solidaridad con
nuestros hermanos afectados por este desastre nacional.<BR><BR>En estas
circunstancias los aportes solicitados son:<BR><BR>- Ropa de abrigo: Tomando en
cuenta que en Perú soporta condiciones de friaje en la actualidad. (Frazadas,
Ropa de abrigo en condiciones adecuadas de limpieza y conservación).<BR><BR>-
Alimentos: No perecibles. (Enlatados que no estén vencidos, Granos envasados /
Arroz, fideos, menestras de alto contenido calórico, agua embotellada). Útiles
de limpieza.<BR><BR>- Dinero: Cáritas necesita dinero para financiar el
transporte de las donaciones. Se pide a las personas e instituciones que hagan
depósitos bancarios en las cuentas específicas que Cáritas del Perú
indicará.<BR><BR>- Voluntariado: Cáritas del Perú suele requerir apoyo
voluntario para colaborar en el Centro de Acopio principal, en la selección,
clasificación y empaque de las donaciones para su envío a las zonas afectadas.
Se suele solicitar apoyo de personas de confianza y
criterio.<BR><BR><STRONG>CEAS está colaborando con Cáritas del
Perú</STRONG>:<BR><BR>- CEAS ha establecido en su local central en <STRONG>Av.
Salaverry 1945 Lince – Lima, Tlf. 471 28 06 un Centro de Acopio</STRONG> Previo.
Allí recepciona sólo Ropa y Alimentos no perecibles. Para facilitar la ubicación
CEAS ha colocado una banderola en la fachada del local. Allí pueden acercar sus
contribuciones las personas e instituciones a las que les es más próximo el
local<BR><BR>- En coordinación con las parroquias e instituciones canaliza la
participación de voluntariado al Centro de Acopio de Cáritas del Perú para
ayudar en la clasificación y empaque.<BR><BR>- CEAS emitirá un recibo de la
recepción de las contribuciones de bienes.<BR><BR>- CEAS transportará al Centro
de Acopio de Cáritas del Perú las contribuciones recibidas.<BR><BR>- Cáritas del
Perú tiene la experticia y confiabilidad en el sistema de apoyo a las
emergencias validado en múltiples oportunidades como rápido y eficiente. Basado
en las Cáritas Diocesanas, Cáritas Parroquiales y equipos locales de la

ahora no tienen casa, estan hambrientas y sin protection contra el
