conferencia busca dar seguimiento a los acuerdos adoptados en Monterrey en la
primera conferencia sobre Financiacion para el Desarrollo (2002), así como
revisar las políticas y acordar un documento de consenso sobre la distintas
formas de financiacion al desarrollo en el contexto actual de crisis financiera,
energética y alimentaria. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

deberá monitorear. Después de meses de negociaciones en Nueva York el documento
todavía no está acordado y al comienzo de la conferencia el Presidente de

presentó una propuesta que intenta conciliar las distintas posiciones. A pesar
del espíritu de dar un mensaje político de compromiso y respuesta conjunta
frente a los desafíos de la financiación para el desarrollo, Estados Unidos se
opuso a aceptar el documento tal cual estaba y bloqueó el consenso diciendo que
había compromisos que no podía sostener. </SPAN><SPAN lang=ES

urgencia de la crisis que va a golpear a los países y a los pueblos más
vulnerables, particularmente a las mujeres, a no ser que se tomen acciones

una especie de pista falsa. El tiempo que queda hasta el final de la conferencia
se aprovecharía mejor si se revisaran cierto número de desafíos que enfrentan
los países en desarrollo que no estuvieron siquiera en la agenda de las
conversaciones de Doha. Después de todo, en los últimos siete años no ha habido
avances a pesar de que el crecimiento global, empujado por el comercio, ha
aumentado durante el mismo período. La plataforma de la Financiación para el
Desarrollo fue la única a partir de la cual se discutieron algunos temas, por
ejemplo cómo obtener rentas públicas del comercio; “Ayuda para el Comercio”;
aumento de la infraestructura relacionada con el comercio; romper con el ciclo
de la deuda de las exportaciones; y temas sistémicos que afectan el comercio,
tal como el acceso al crédito y el manejo de la volatilidad de las tasas de

Gender-Equitable Public Policy: Best Practices & New Oportunities (Políticas
Públicas con Equidad de Género: Buenas prácticas y nuevas oportunidades) donde
con la presencia de destacados/as panelistas se discutió acerca de los
presupuestos sensibles al género, y como el análisis de los presupuestos
fiscales desde una perspectiva de género es una importante herramienta de
política; macroeconomía alternativa, políticas con equidad de géneros y los
vínculos con la macroeconomía, incluyendo el comercio, inversiones y
crecimiento.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Esta actividad
fue organizada por Alternativas de Desarrollo con Mujeres para una Nueva Era
