<div><font size="2">finalmente les estoy enviando una breve reseña de las actividades en el FSM de Belem, con varias fotos. Como recordarán, como Equipo de Trabajo Feminista (ETF) presentamos un taller sobre los tribunales de mujeres sobre la pobreza y participamos también del taller de GCAP general sobre las crisis: "De crisis en crisis: Alimenticia, energética, financiera. El camino hacia adelante".</font></div>
<div><font size="2">Ambos talleres tuvieron lugar el mismo dia, el 31 de enero, en el mismo salón, uno a las 12 del mediodía y el otro a las tres de la tarde. Rosa tuvo una intervención en el taller sobre crisis. Los otros panelistas fueron Minar, de la Campaña del Milenio, Kinda, de la red de ONGS del Libano, el representante de GCAP Chile y Roberto Bissio, de Social Watch. Hubo mucho público, y contó con traducción inglés-portugués. Les envío una foto de esta taller en la que está Rosa.</font></div>

<div><font size="2">En el taller sobre los tribunales hicimos una presentación primero sobre el trabajo del ETF apoyadas en el video que preparamos el año pasado para la CSW con imágenes de las varias movilizaciones que hemos realizado. Luego presentamos la experiencia de los tribunales contando que se habían hecho en Perú, India y Egipto en una primera etapa, y luego en Nueva York. Se pasó un video sobre el tribunal de Nueva York. Rosa y Diana Salas presentaron mucha información sobre la experiencia de este tribunal. Finalmente Rosa compartió también información general sobre cómo organizar este tipo de tribunales. En esta misma actividad compartimos información sobre las Audiencias contra la pobreza que realizó GCAP y entregamos copias de un CD con el informe tanto de las audiencias como de los tribunales. Hubo interés de prensa en dar difusión a esta información. Les adjunto varias fotos sobre este taller. </font></div>

<div><font size="2">Previo a los talleres tuvimos una reunión de coordinación con los otros compañeros de GCAP con quienes habíamos acordado presentar los dos talleres. Fue una pena que ninguno de ellos se quedó a nuestro taller, no sólo para escuchar la información de los tribunales de mujeres, sino que había sido pensado como una actividad común ya que se presentaba la información de las audiencias contra la pobreza organizadas por GCAP en Nueva York en el marco del encuentro de alto nivel sobre los ODM. Sí coordinamos muy bien y nos apoyó mucho Helena, del equipo global de GCAP. </font></div>

<div><font size="2">Aparte de estas dos actividades yo personalmente tuve una agenda muy intensa por las actividades de ICAE pues presentamos varios talleres y tuvimos muchas coordinaciones en el área de educación. Rosa por su parte también participó de varias otras actividades sobre las que seguramente les informará. El Foro en general tuvo una altísima participación sobre todo por parte de jóvenes y movimientos del Brasil, especialmente de la región Amazónica. Sigue siendo un espacio de encuentro, de generación de alternativas y esperanzas. </font></div>

<div><font size="2">La próxima semana tenemos una llamada del equipo facilitador y compartiremos información de los planes hacia el 8 de marzo. </font></div>

<div><font size="2">I am finally sharing with you some information on the WSF in Belem, including some pictures. As you might recall, as FTF we presented a workshop on the women's tribunals on poverty and we also took part in the general GCAP workshop on "From crisis to crisis: food, energy, financial crisis. The road ahead". Both workshops took place on 31 January in the same room, one at 12 noon, and the other one at 3 PM. Rosa was one of the panellist in this workshop. The others were MInar, from the Millennium Campaign, Kinda, from Lebanon, a representative from GCAP Chile and Roberto Bissio from Social Watch. There were many people, and the workshop had English/Portuguese translation. I am sending a picture of Rosa in this workshop.</font></div>

<div><font size="2">In the workshop on the tribunals we made a presentation, first, on the work of the FTF, with the support of the video prepared last year for the CSW with a lot of pictures of the various mobilisations we have organised. Then we presented the experience of the tribunals in Peru, India and Egypt, as well as in New York. A video from the New York tribunal was also shown. Rosa and Diana Salas provided a lot of information on this tribunal. Then Rosa also shared general information on how to organise these events. At the same activity we presented information of the Poverty Hearings organised by GCAP and handed in CDs with the whole report of the hearings and the tribunals. There was media interest on these events. I am attaching several pictures of this workshop. </font></div>

<div><font size="2">Before the workshops we had a coordination meeting with other GCAP colleagues with whom we had agreed upon to present these two workshops. It was a pity that none of them stayed for our workshop, not only to listen to the experience of the women's tribunals, but because we had agreed upon that this was a common activity to present the information on the poverty hearings organised by GCAP in New York within the framework of the HLE on the MDGs. We did work closely with Helena from the Global Team and she provided very important support. </font></div>
<div><font size="2"></font> </div>
<div><font size="2">Besides these two activities, I personally had an intense agenda those days at the Forum with several activities presented by ICAE and other education partners. Rosa also attended several activities from which she will certainly share some information. The WSF had a very high participation, specially of youth and social movements from Brazil, in particular from the Amazon region. It continues to be a unique meeting space, capable of generating alternatives and hope. </font></div>
