<div><font size="2">As the 8th of March is approaching, we are glad to tell you that this year again GCAP has decided to have International Women's Day as the first day of global mobilisation. </font></div>
<div><font size="2">Rosa and I, with the support of the GCAP Global Secretariat, have been working on plans for this day that can be implemented by the FTF as well as by the various GCAP coalitions. I am attaching the toolkit for mobilisation that we hope will provide ideas for mobilisation. We are following on the experience of the years before when the e-campaigning was very successful. In fact we will be sending soon e-cards that can be easily adapted to the particular local and regional realities with the inclusion of specific demands. Some messaging is suggested in the toolkit but it can be expanded, changed, etc. We have tried to focus on the linkages with the global financial crisis and its impact on women, and on the work done by the Women's Working Group on FfD of which we are an active member. We are also coordinating efforts with the rest of GCAP, particularly the Mobilisation Task Force, which is preparing the mobilisation for the events around the meeting of the G20 that will take place in London on 2 April, including a big rally on 28th March. It is as a result of these efforts that the idea for the IWD mobilisation is on " 20 Days to the G-20" beginning on March 8 and culminating on March 28. We want to ensure that the gender message reaches the G20 and the associated mobilisations. </font></div>

There is going to be a space in the website specifically assigned to IWD so it would be great if you send us information to upload there. <div dir="ltr">Ya se acerca el 8 de marzo y es un gusto decirles que nuevamente GCAP ha decidido que la primera movilización anual será en torno al Día Internacional de la Mujer. </div>
<div dir="ltr">Rosa y yo, con el apoyo del secretariado global de GCAP, hemos estado trabajando en la elaboración de planes que pueden ser implementados tanto por el ETF como por las coaliciones nacionales. Les adjunto un pequeño manual de movilización para el 8 de marzo (por ahora sólo en inglés pero que en breve será traducido) donde se plantean varias sugerencias para la movilización. Nos hemos basado en experiencias de años anteriores en los que la movilización virtual fue muy exitosa. De hecho en breve les haremos llegar tarjetas electrónicas (que también pueden ser impresas) que pueden adaptarse fácilmente a las realidades locales y regionales con la inclusión de demandas específicas. Se sugieren ya varios mensajes para las movilizaciones que pueden ser ampliados, modificados, etc. Tratamos de focalizarnos en la temática de la crisis financiera y su impacto sobre las mujeres y aprovechar el trabajo del Group de Mujeres sobre el Financiamiento para el desarrollo del que somos parte. También estamos coordinando esfuerzos con el resto de GCAP, en particular con el Grupo de Trabajo de Movilización, que está preparando las movilizaciones para las actividades en torno a la reunión del G20 que tendrá lugar en Londres el 2 de abril, incluida una gran manifestación el 28 de marzo. Es en ese sentido que la idea central de las movilizaciones propuestas en torno al 8 de marzo es una campaña "20 Días para el G-20" que comenzará el 8 de marzo y culmina el 28 de marzo. Queremos asegurarnos que el mensaje de género llegue al G20 y las movilizaciones que tendrán lugar en su entorno.</div>
