de género. A ser adoptada el día 14 de septiembre del 2009, esta resolución dará
paso a la creación de un nuevo organismo de Naciones Unidas que promoverá los
derechos de las mujeres en todo el mundo y al nivel de NU.<O></O></SPAN></P>

a los esfuerzos de <ST1>la Campaña</ST1> de Reforma de <ST1>la
Arquitectura</ST1> de Igualdad de Género (GEAR), una red de más de 310 grupos de
mujeres, de derechos humanos y de justicia social de todas las regiones del
mundo, que urge a los estados miembros de Naciones Unidos a tomar una rápida
acción para adoptar una resolución sobre la reforma de la arquitectura de
igualdad de género antes del cierre de esta 63ª sesión de <ST1><ST1>la
Asamblea</ST1> General</ST1> de NU el día 14 de septiembre del
2009.<O></O></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><O></O></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><B><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Pedimos a Usted y a
su gobierno que tomen las siguientes acciones:<O></O></SPAN></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><B><SPAN lang=ES
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><O></O></SPAN></B></P>
<UL type=disc>
<LI class=MsoNormal><U><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Establecer la
llamada “entidad compuesta”</SPAN></U><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">
que consolida en una sola estructura a las cuatro entidades de derechos de las
mujeres ya existentes en NU. <O></O></SPAN>
<LI class=MsoNormal><U><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Comprometerse a
financiar la nueva entidad de manera ambiciosa</SPAN></U><SPAN lang=ES
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">, con una cantidad inicial de 1 mil millón de USD para
la primera fase de la nueva entidad de igualdad de género. Sólo con recursos
ambiciosos, estables y de largo plazo para actividades normativas y operativas
se asegurará que la entidad pueda cambiar la vida de las mujeres en todo el
mundo.<O></O></SPAN>
<LI class=MsoNormal><U><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Acordar la
creación de un Comité Ejecutivo</SPAN></U><SPAN lang=ES
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"> para asegurar un gobierno efectivo de las múltiples
tareas de la nueva entidad.<O></O></SPAN>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">Ayudar al
Secretario-General de NU en <U>la contratación transparente y rápida de un
líder fuerte</U> para encabezar la nueva entidad de igualdad de

participación sistemática y continua de la sociedad civil</SPAN></U><SPAN
