<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Aprovechando el Día internacional de la Mujer quisiera lanzar una pregunta abierta que ha estado rondando en mi cabeza todo el 2009. Esta pregunta se instaló en mis reflexiones y en mi diario desde que observé una detrás de otra, luchas entre unos y otros grupos para demostrar que los unos o las otras eran más vulnerables a la epidemia del VIH.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Entonces mi pregunta es: <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">¿Quién es dueña o dueño de la vulnerabilidad de género en relación a la epidemia del VIH/SIDA?</B><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Desde mi punto de vista de mujer viviendo con VIH, sobreviviente de violencia sexual, víctima una noche pero que decidí no vivir como víctima, como estudiante de temas de género y sexualidad e identidades de género y como activista que promueve el empoderamiento de las comunidades; la vulnerabilidad en relación al género no debe presentarse como una característica de la esencia de las personas. Por ejemplo no soy vulnerable al VIH tan solo por el hecho de ser mujer biológica, sino por las condiciones del sistema de género predominante en mi país que no respetan los derechos de las mujeres. Lo mismo se aplica a otros grupos y comunidades. <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>En mis reflexiones, el problema surge cuando se presenta la vulnerabilidad en relación al género como algo definitivo en ADN de las personas. Si así fuera, ¿entonces quien podrá ayudarme? Entonces, ¡No importaría cuanta inversión se haga en mi persona si de todas maneras estoy destinada a un destino fatal por el hecho de ser mujer!<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>La vulnerabilidad en relación al género es una condición y pienso que NINGUN GRUPO es esencialmente vulnerable. En muchos casos, si las condiciones cambian, esa persona deja de ser vulnerable.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Desde el punto de vista de activismo comunitario, la vulnerabilidad en relación al género, no debe presentarse como una bandera para atraer más recursos hacia mi comunidad, sino como una base para planificar acciones de empoderamiento, acciones por las cuales, dentro de un tiempo, las personas de mi comunidad ya no sean vulnerables.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Pero solamente para escuchar otras voces, aquí está la pregunta nuevamente: <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD">¿Quién es dueña o dueño de la vulnerabilidad de género en relación a la epidemia del VIH/SIDA?</SPAN></B><SPAN lang=ES-TRAD style="mso-ansi-language: ES-TRAD"><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Taking advantage of the International Women’s Day, I would like to ask an open question which has been on my mind since 2009. This question was installed on my head and reflected on my journal since I observed, one after another, fights among community groups to demonstrate who was more vulnerable to gender vulnerability in relation to the AIDS epidemic.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>So my question is: <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">¿Who are the owners of gender vulnerability in relation to the AIDS epidemic?<o:p></o:p></B></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>From my point of view, as a woman living with HIV, a rape survivor, one who was victim one night but decided not to live like a victim, as student of gender and sexual identities, and as an activist who works for the empowerment of communities; the gender vulnerability should not be presented as an essential part of people. <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>For example I am not vulnerable to HIV just for the sake of being a biological woman, but due to the conditions of the predominant gender system in my country which does not respect the rights of women. The same applies for other groups and communities.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>On my reflections, the problem is when the gender vulnerability is presented as something definitive on people’s DNA. If it is so, who can ever help me? It would not matter how much investments are made on me if anyway and anyhow my destiny is a fatal fake for the fact of being a woman!<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>The gender vulnerability is a condition. I think NO GROUP is essentially vulnerable. In many cases, if the conditions change, that person stops being vulnerable.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>From my community and advocacy point of view, the gender vulnerability, should not presented as a flag to attract more resources to my community but as basis for planning actions that will empower and will eliminate the vulnerability conditions of my community.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #0070c0"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>But just to hear other voices, here the question again:<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
