PAHO/WHO Regional Consultation on the Social Determinants of Health in the
Region of the Americas




The World Health Organization is carrying out, in cooperation with the
Government of Brazil, the World Conference on Social Determinants of Health,
to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 19 to 20 October 2011.  In
preparation to this Conference each Region is preparing a position document
on the subject.  




PAHO/WHO is conducting a Regional virtual consultation in order to collect
the recommendations for the Position Paper.  

The purpose of this consultation is to obtain the perspective of experts in
the Americas regarding the impact of economic, social and environmental
determinants of health in the quality of life and the reduction of the gap
in equity in the access to the health services. 




From your perspective, what are three key recommendations regarding the
social determinants of health that you would like to suggest for the
Regional Position Paper?

Consulta Regional de la OPS/OMS sobre el perfil sobre los determinantes
sociales de salud en la Región de las Américas




 

La Organización Mundial de la Salud está llevando a cabo, conjuntamente con
el Gobierno de Brasil la Conferencia Mundial sobre los Determinantes
Sociales de la Salud, que se realizará en Río de Janeiro, Brasil, del 19 al
20 de octubre del 2011. En preparación a esta Conferencia cada Región está
preparando un documento de posición o sobre el tema. 




La OPS/OMS está organizando una Consulta Regional virtual para recolectar
recomendaciones para el documento de posición regional. Esta consulta tiene
como objetivo obtener la perspectiva de expertos en la Región de las
Américas sobre el impacto de los determinantes económicos, sociales y
ambientales de la salud en la calidad de vida y la disminución de la brecha
de inequidad en el acceso a los servicios de salud. 




Desde su perspectiva, ¿cuáles son tres recomendaciones claves sobre los
