<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial">Cuando ser mujer en Chile ya es tener una condición desigual
en cuestiones políticas y sociales, ser migrante implica la suma de otras discriminaciones. Un país en que la migración ha
aumentado significativamente en los últimos años, arroja a las mujeres migrantes a mantenerse relegadas a oficios de limpieza, cocina y
cuidado de personas adultas mayores, siendo marginadas y muchas veces abusadas, no solo por empleadores sino por la hostilidad social.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial">¿Por qué eligen Chile para migrar? Según la
Naciones Unidas, su atractivo radica en la estabilidad del país en comparación con otros de la región. Por ello, el flujo
migratorio de la última década ha sido diverso en cuanto a nacionalidades. A la tradicional migración desde Perú,
actualmente se suman las de Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Haití y Argentina.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial">Mientras en el país el movimiento feminista aparece como una
ola y se intenta avanzar en igualdad de género y derechos, las mujeres migrantes aún se encuentran en mayor desventaja. En el marco del
Seminario Mujer Migrante en Chile, iniciativa de la estudiante de derecho de la Universidad de Chile María Fernanda Verdugo, dos de los
realizadores del Estudio Exploratorio sobre Autonomías Física y Económica de las Mujeres Migrantes en las regiones de
Metropolitana, Tarapacá, y Antofagasta de Rimisp (Centro Latinoamericano para el Desarrollo Rural), Valentina Cortinez y Juan Fernández,
expusieron parte de los resultados de su investigación.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial">Según el estudio existe un mundo diverso de motivaciones que
incide en las personas para migrar y esta diversidad aumenta entre hombres y mujeres. Múltiples son los factores sobre la migración de
mujeres, sus dinámicas y procesos para llegar a asentarse a un país, y dejar el de origen. En muchos casos las razones son violencia
doméstica, discriminación o abuso; en otros para trabajar y asegurar la supervivencia de sus familias. Otras causas son las condiciones
políticas y económicas de sus países, generando así la migración forzada o la urgencia de refugio.</span></p>
<p style="margin-top:0cm;margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial">Las cifras hablan por
sí solas: a Chile migran más mujeres que hombres. El Censo de 1992 indicaba que un 49,2% del total de migrantes eran mujeres. En 2010,
el Departamento de Extranjería y Migración dio a conocer que eran 52,2%. Para 2013, la CASEN evidenció que la cifra
aumentó al 55,1% mujeres mientras la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) cifró en 52,6% las mujeres migrantes en
Chile.</span></p>
