distribuidos por todo Montevideo, que funcionarán en el horario de

Podrán votar todas las personas mayores de 18 años, presentando la cédula de

Zonal</A></SPAN></U><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"> </SPAN></FONT><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3>es la oficina municipal en <st1:PersonName
w:st="on" ProductID="la Zona">la Zona</st1:PersonName>, que depende de
<st1:PersonName w:st="on" ProductID="la Junta Local"><st1:PersonName w:st="on"
ProductID="la Junta">la Junta</st1:PersonName> Local</st1:PersonName> (órgano
ejecutivo del Gobierno Local). Para ejercer su función, cuenta con personal
obrero, administrativo, inspectores y técnicos especializados en diferentes
áreas de servicio. Tiene a su cargo la gestión de diversos servicios y obras en
los barrios de cada zona.<BR> Los <B
style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Concejos Vecinales</B>, creados</FONT><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"> en 1993, son</SPAN></FONT><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3> órganos autónomos que facilitan la
participación social en la gestión municipal, además de ejercer el control y ser
los portavoces de las necesidades, demandas y propuestas del barrio ante las
autoridades nacionales y municipales.<BR> Los concejales
trabajan honorariamente y son representantes de organizaciones sociales,
religiosas, culturales o deportivas. Entre sus funciones se encuentra la
elaboración de proyectos y planes para mejorar los barrios y asesorar a las
Juntas Locales en planes para la zona, estableciendo prioridades. Participan en
la elaboración del presupuesto municipal, proponiendo las prioridades de gastos
e inversiones que realiza <st1:PersonName w:st="on"
ProductID="la Intendencia">la Intendencia</st1:PersonName> y evaluando la
gestión. Trabajan por la inclusión social a través de la solidaridad y
cooperación con los sectores más vulnerables de Montevideo. También organizan y
promueven actividades culturales, sociales y deportivas, así como cooperan en el
cuidado de los espacios públicos.<BR> Los Concejos Vecinales
participan en la organización y evaluación del Presupuesto Participativo y
deciden directamente dónde gastar una parte de los recursos municipales. Además
proponen, cuando se elabora el Presupuesto Quinquenal, las prioridades barriales
para los gastos e inversiones que realizará <st1:PersonName w:st="on"

inclusión social a través de un importante despliegue de solidaridad y
cooperación con los sectores más vulnerables de Montevideo y, trabajando
honorariamente, son los portavoces de las necesidades, demandas y propuestas de
los barrios ante las autoridades nacionales y municipales, participando en la
organización y evaluación del Presupuesto Participativo, y decidiendo
