"En la madrugada del domingo 21 de abril de 1974 cayó sobre un apartamentito de
Mariano Soler 3098 bis, una horda de tipos extrañamente vestidos con camperas
negras y pantalones grises, apoyados por la friolera de más de catorce camiones
militares, de los cuales centenares de efectivos del Grupo de Artillería Nº 1 y
otras unidades, armados hasta los dientes con fusiles, ametralladoras, bazookas
e Itakas bajaron para copar militarmente la manzana y la zona. Objetivo: matar
-no venían a capturar, venían a matar- a Wáshington Barrios, militante del MLN
de 22 años de edad.<BR> Ante los gritos histéricos
que clamaban en el corredor "los vamos a matar a todos hijos de puta", el padre
de Wáshington, hombre entrado en años y que vivía en un apartamento situado
enfrente al de su hijo, pudo salvar su vida porque al abrir la puerta una voz
gritó a quienes iban a fusilarle: "A ese no lo maten que es el
