auto rumbo a Río, en uno de esos tantos desplazamientos de ciudad en ciudad a
los que nos obliga el Mundial. El a...uto de TNU esta ploteado con simbolos de
Uruguay y tiene el numero 9, lo que provocaba gestos de brasileños con quien nos
cruzábamos y entre tantas cosas nos hacían el gesto de la mordida de
Suarez.<BR> Yo iba en el asiento trasero y mientras
hablábamos de todo tipo de cosas, en especial de fútbol y el partido que se nos
venía, y obvio sobre la sanción a Suarez, Fermín, al caso camarógrafo co piloto
manejador del GPS, iba poniendo la música.<BR> Pasamos
por brasileños, Gardel, Credence y varios más. Al entrar en Río tras seis horas
de viaje apareció el Adagio de mi País y la conmovedora voz de don Alfredo
entonando “ En mi país que tristeza…”<BR> Ya había
recibido un golpe sonoro bajo con una versión de Elvis de una cancioneta
napolitana que me nublo la vista recordando a mi abuela italiana y a mi madre a
quien perdí hace menos de un año.<BR> Para esconder mi
afloje, fije la vista en los miles de autos que pasaban cerca en la delirante
ciudad carioca a las seis de la tarde, no sé porqué, pero mire mi reloj para ver
la fecha, algo dentro de mí lo provoco, era el 27 de junio, haciendo fuerza dije
a mis jóvenes compañeros, todos treintañeros, que esa canción tenía más de 40
años. Yo la había escuchado por primera vez en el estar de la familia Estevez,
con dos Luis aun vivo, junto a todos los Estevez, antes que la dictadura nos
esparciera por el mundo.<BR> Pero después de eso me
acobarde, no me anime a seguir, a decirles lo que fue ese invierno de Huelga y
miedo, miedo que calaba los huesos en las ocupaciones, movilizaciones y
reuniones donde solo se escuchaba la palabra
resistir.<BR> Don Alfredo decía “En mi país somos duros,
el futuro lo dira…” Creo que el futuro lo dijo, aguantamos aguantaron, unos con
mejor suerte que otros, otros con sus familias penando sin respuestas. Pero
ella, perra maldita, nos marcó a fuego y aun hoy tenemos restos que como
sociedad no nos animamos a sacar. <BR> Lo siento en mis
hijos y los hijos de mis compañeros, ese sufrimiento de niños que no se explica
con palabras, que anuda el estomago y que me hace vacilar al pensar si teníamos
derecho a exponerlos así. Bueno, ya fue y lo hecho, hecho
está.<BR> Es otra época, quizás mi recuerdos sean de un
tipo viejo que no logra quitarse el frío de esos
años.<BR> Muchas cosas han cambiado y pensando en eso
llegué al apartamento de Río donde esperaremos el partido ante Colombia, en
medio de eso me llama mi hijo y me dice, “Viste que bien Tabárez” La verdad es
que no había llegado a escuchar su conferencia antes del partido, pero la magia
de los medios electrónicos nos permitió buscar y encontrar.
<BR> La escuché junto a esos jóvenes y sentí que estaba
otra vez en el sillón de los Estevez, en silencio, escuchando la dignidad de un
uruguayo, como aquellos que resistieron, enfrentando al poder que nos quería
aplastar.<BR> Se que es fútbol, pero hasta donde estos
jugadores representan aquel espíritu que nos hizo resistir, logrando esa
comunión que alguna vez tuvimos en pos de la libertad y perdimos en pos del
poder.<BR> Don Alfredo sigue susurrando “En mi país que
tibieza, cuando empieza amanecer…” El amanecer de mañana no necesita de un
resultado, acaso alcanza con resistir, una vez más como hace 41
