Malvín.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial> Si bien fue don Juan
Balbín y Vallejo, saladerista pionero, afincado en tiempo de los españoles quien
dio origen al nombre del barrio; la fecha que se toma como referencia es
noviembre de 1896. En ese momento, según don Alfredo Castellanos, se
inicia por parte de Francisco Piria el loteo y urbanización de los solares
costeros “más allá de la Playa Buceo”. El nombre original fue Lavaderos
del Este, y su objeto fue establecer allí a las lavanderas que se veían
desplazadas de los “Pocitos”. <BR> El
Centro Cultural La Experimental junto a otras instituciones de larga
trayectoria en el barrio, está convocando a promover en forma amplia, un
calendario de festejos por estos 120 años.<BR> El primer
paso ha sido formar una comisión para articular los festejos. La referida
comisión integra a los representantes del Centro Cultural (Comisiones de
Fomento de las Escuelas Nos. 219 y 274; Concejo Municipal, Concejo Vecinal,
Asoc. Civil Centro Cultural La Experimental), instituciones que ya nos han
manifestado el apoyo y están trabajando por este objetivo (Club Malvín y Colegio
John F. Kennedy), y a la que se irán sumando otras personas e
instituciones con las que ya hemos conversado o lo haremos en breve ( Iglesia de
Lourdes, comparsas, clubes deportivos, etc.).<BR> El
Concejo Municipal ha declarado esta iniciativa de interés Municipal, la Comisión
pro festejos ha definido promover actividades “puertas afuera”
(concurso de pesca, reeditar una jornada de cine en la playa, exposición y/o
concurso de fotos, etc.) y el Centro Cultural está concretando la
programación de la Sala.<BR> La idea es invitar a
que cada institución enmarque sus actividades en los 120 años del barrio. Para
eso se ha trabajado en el diseño de un logo para que las instituciones que se
sumen lo utilicen si así lo desean. En la segunda quincena de mayo se realizará
el lanzamiento de estos festejos que se han pensado con el objetivo
principal de estrechar lazos y generar instancias de encuentros entre vecinos
que redunden en una mejora de la convivencia y calidad de vida para

La tarea de las mujeres afrodescendientes es hacer mientras denunciamos,
resistir en tanto esperamos para avanzar, trasmitir esperanzas, solidaridad,
revalorizar identidad, ahuyentar la desilusión, darnos la mano y alentar la
alegría de vivir.<BR> Entre la población afrouruguaya
femenina es mayor el índice de desempleo y de sub empleo, somos pobres entre los
pobres, desertan nuestros hijos antes y en mayor cantidad del sistema educativo,
una de cada cinco uruguayas afro es empleada doméstica, a igual ocupación
ganamos menos, y más desigualdades en la larga
lista.<BR> No son “ideas nuestras” hay datos fidedignos
estadísticamente comprobados, es histórico el racismo estructural en una
sociedad que nació con cultura hegemónica, alejando a la población africana y su
descendencia del ejercicio de la ciudadanía, condenando a la marginalidad a un
sector importante de la raíz de nuestra orientalidad. Cuesta mucho equilibrar
tanta desventaja y a veces no se comprende que para igualar hay que diferenciar
y vale el ejemplo del banquito. Si a personas de diferentes alturas que
necesitan ver más allá de un muro les das el mismo tamaño de plataforma para
subirse, a alguno podrás ayudar, otros pueden seguir sin ver y hasta sentirse
burlados.<BR> El color de la piel, los rasgos físicos y
las huellas visibles fenotípicas son lamentablemente elemento de diferenciación
negativa en la sociedad uruguaya y es factor acumulativo de discriminaciones
múltiples.<BR> Traemos la mochila cargada de décadas de
trabajo en la sociedad civil, por eso un lugar de suplencia en el Parlamento es
una gran oportunidad y lo aprovechamos al máximo venciendo los desafíos con el
mejor amor por la causa justicia social.<BR> Nos toca
argumentar el tema entre legisladores también y es una interesante posibilidad
de intercambio de saberes. Tener la sensibilidad artiguista de que los más
infelices sean los más privilegiados, no te hace conocedor de políticas
focalizadas en negritud. Así como ser afrodescendiente notorio no te faculta
naturalmente a la militancia ni te hace experto.<BR> Y
siempre aprendiendo avanzamos.<BR> Entre otras tareas
ahora estamos colaborando en la conmemoración del Día de la Mujer Afrolatina,
Afrocaribeña y de la Diáspora -que son las mujeres afro que andan por el mundo
producto de la dispersión provocada por el colonialismo criminal- y para eso
<STRONG>nos juntaremos el domingo 3 de julio al mediodía en las escaleras del
Palacio Legislativo para tomarnos una foto grupal</STRONG> que luego será una
gigantografía que se presentará el 25 de julio en el anexo del Parlamento a las
seis de la tarde con presencia de autoridades de todos los partidos, y será
exhibida en organismos estatales y centros educativos del Uruguay, destacando la
fecha especial y el Decenio Internacional de las Personas Afrodescendientes
2015-2024 declarado por Naciones Unidas.<BR> Todas las
mujeres descendientes del África que quieran puede
participar!!<BR> Al hacernos visibles se releva la
problemática que no cesa sola sino con políticas públicas como se ha venido
haciendo en los últimos gobiernos pero más y sin cesar. Sino; hay atraso, porque
el rezago es demasiado grande. ¡Más de 500 años!. </SPAN><B><SPAN

todas partes vinieron a ver lo mejor del BNS</SPAN></STRONG><SPAN

El pasado miércoles 15 de junio, 1500 escolares del medio rural y 1750
jóvenes de liceos de todo el país, vinieron al Auditorio Nacional del Sodre a
ver una función de Coppelia del Ballet Nacional Sodre. La misma producción que
se presentará en diciembre en el Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona y en los
Teatros del Canal de Madrid. Un día muy emotivo, tal vez el más lindo del año
para el Auditorio. <BR> Estas funciones se realizaron en
el marco de las políticas culturales de inclusión social del Auditorio. Por
cuarto año el programa En primera fila, escuelas rurales al Auditorio se hizo
realidad y con él más de 1.500 niños del Uruguay más profundo vinieron a ver
Coppelia. Además, este año -que se conmemora el 80 Aniversario de Secundaria- se
sumó la iniciativa Liceos al Teatro, construcción de ciudadanía plena e
inclusiva y se realizó una función especial de ballet para 1750
adolescentes y jóvenes. <BR> Estas dos funciones
constituyen un gran aporte a la visión social que construimos desde el Auditorio
y es el momento culminante de las políticas de inclusión que realizamos durante
todo el año con otras instituciones sociales y educativas. Reúnen a un público
muy especial que llega desde todos los rincones del país y por eso representan
la visión del Uruguay que soñamos. Nos muestran que es posible la más alta
calidad, trabajando en colaboración y en red, buscando la excelencia
permanentemente, dando mensajes de valor a la sociedad. Importa que seas
parte.<BR><STRONG>Coppelia<BR></STRONG> El Ballet
Nacional Sodre recorre una temporada clave en la que ha asumido renovados
desafíos en su misión de tornar al Ballet en patrimonio artístico y cultural de
todos los uruguayos. En ese sentido se seleccionó la misma producción para estas
funciones especiales y para la escena internacional, donde cerrará el año con un
broche de oro al retornar a España. Con la compañía completa, en un hecho
inédito, el BNS se presentará en los renombrados escenarios del Gran Teatre del
Liceu de Barcelona (16, 17, 18 y 20 de diciembre) y Teatros del Canal de Madrid
(27, 28, 29, 30, 31 de diciembre 2016 y 1º de enero de 2017 con Coppelia y 4, 5,

face=Arial> Desde allá lejos, desde Barcelona
(España), a veces quiero recordar el cielo y el verano del
Uruguay…<BR> A cinco quilómetros del pueblo, entre los
médanos y el océano, están los ranchitos de paja de los pescadores. Fueron
construidos por los pescadores en la misma playa, con troncos de eucaliptus,
juncos, cañas y tablas que trae el mar. El aire los atraviesa como a un
colador.<BR> Andrés iba todos los años y había hecho
muchos amigos allí.<BR> El año anterior se había
entusiasmado con la idea de formar una cooperativa de pesca, pero los pescadores
no la creyeron necesaria; estaban acostumbrados a que cada familia trabajase
para si.<BR> Aquel enero, Andrés nos prestó el
rancho.<BR> El lugar era espléndido. El verano permitía
que nos quedáramos hasta tarde por las noches, disfrutando el espectáculo que
nos anunciaran los pescadores del lugar. Se escuchaba el sonido del mar, la
oscuridad nos regalaba un cielo tan estrellado como nunca habíamos visto y las
olas llegaban a la orilla con espuma fosforescente.<BR>
De mañana, pasaba una señora que vendía pan y unos bollos dulces muy ricos,
recién hechos por ella.<BR> Adentrándose en el océano se
conseguía pesca mayor: atunes, tiburones, etc.<BR> Los
pescadores salían al mar en unas embarcaciones endebles, de madera, que no se
podía creer que entraran unas millas en el océano. Cada día se jugaban el
regreso.<BR> Cuando salían al mar, tiraban las redes y
las dejaban allí, amarradas a las boyas, durante dos días, luego iban a
recogerlas. Cuando los enormes animales atrapados, cansados de luchar se
atontaban, los arrastraban hasta la orilla y los remataban a
palazos.<BR> Entreveradas en las redes aparecían
manta-rayas del tamaño de un paraguas abierto, que, peleando entre la vida y la
muerte, sacudían peligrosamente su cola venenosa; los pescadores la cortaban con
un solo golpe de machete.<BR> Al llegar las
embarcaciones a la orilla, todas las mujeres corrían hacia ellas con ganchos y
cuchillos. Luego llegaban los cerdos y los perros y por último, los niños
pequeños. La faena empezaba ahí mismo, cortando el pescado en lonchas.
Trabajaban con rapidez. Tiraban las vísceras a los cerdos que comían
ruidosamente, gruñendo. Los perros, aprovechando la distracción colectiva,
corrían a las gallinas que intentaban acercarse.<BR>
Alrededor de los ranchos, en los médanos, grandes caballetes de madera,
sostenían las tablas rústicas donde colocaban las grandes lonchas de pescado que
allí mismo salaban, colgaban y dejaban secar al sol días y días, dándolas vuelta
y recogiéndolas por las noches para que no se humedecieran con el rocío. Así
elaboraban el bacalao. Eso y remendar las redes que llegaban rotas, era trabajo
de las mujeres.<BR> Las mujeres no participaban en la
comercialización del bacalao:<BR> -Es cosa de hombres
-me decían, alcanzándome un mate-. Nosotras no entramos ni
salimos.<BR> Me contaron que el precio siempre lo fijaba
el intermediario, que es quien tiene los camiones y el
dinero.<BR> El intermediario esperaba en la carretera.
Algunas familias estaban mejor económicamente y tenían caballo y carro propio,
para transportar el pescado hasta la carretera que quedaba a tres kilómetros.
Los demás caminaban con su pescado a cuestas.<BR> Los
pescadores se sienten con las manos atadas: sin locomoción y lejos del mercado
donde se fijan los precios. Siempre son los que ganan menos y arriesgan más,
hasta la vida arriesgan en el mar.<BR> -Vos no tenés
otra forma de venderlo, tenés que morir en el intermediario-
decían.<BR> Las mujeres conseguían su dinerito, el que
era de ellas, juntando mejillones entre las rocas del Cerro Verde, empapándose
de la cabeza a los pies y resbalando peligrosamente en las rocas verdosas de
musgo, muy filosas.<BR> Cargaban las pesadas bolsas de
arpillera repletas de mejillones sobre sus espaldas, doblando el cuerpo y
caminando por la orilla del agua hacia los hoteles compradores, que se
encontraban a cuatro o cinco quilómetros de distancia. Parecían hormiguitas,
tambaleándose con su carga de treinta o más quilos. Caminaban descalzas,
abriendo muy bien los dedos de los pies, para mantener el equilibrio. Lo que
ganaban se lo gastaban en el Chuy, comprando alguna blusa, dulces, enlatados,
yerba, azúcar, aceite.<BR> -Cuando hay cambio de luna, y
hay bajante marina, se pueden sacar muchos más mejillones; entonces el precio es
cada día más bajo. Los hoteles tiran abajo los precios y los camioneros se
aprovechan, pagando cada día menos.<BR> Ellas van
dejando la carga al borde de la carretera. Si el precio no le conviene al
camionero, se los deja pudrir al sol; así que cuanto más mejillones, menos se
les paga. Al final, ellas tienen que aceptar el precio para salvar los días de
trabajo y la mojadura.<BR> -Mierda, nos pagan
mierda.<BR> Este trabajo es propio de mujeres o de los
muchachitos que acompañan a sus madres, que por su edad todavía no salen al mar.
Muchas de estas mujeres padecen problemas de columna y prolapso. Pero todos, en
general, son fuertes de salud, son parte de la naturaleza del lugar, rostros
curtidos por el aire salado del océano y mejillas enrojecidas por el
sol.<BR> Los niños pequeños juntan mandíbulas de
tiburón, estrellas de mar, caracoles, vértebras de tiburón con las que hacen
collares para vender a los turistas que llegan al pesquero, para adornar las
casas de Montevideo. Los visitantes se acercan con sus cámaras, los fotografían,
y les dejan algunas monedas.<BR> Durante el invierno,
por la orilla del mar, por la arena dura, van cada día a la escuela del pueblo.
En grupo, acompañándose como los pececitos, caminan esos cinco quilómetros.
Regresan recogiendo estrellas de mar y caracoles para vender cuando llegue la
