[Ftffacilitationteam] Fw: Speaker on sustainable development indicators for ISI 2009

Dear all,
some of you know that my husband, Jairo, works for Statistics South Africa and they are organising the next International Statistical Conference in South Africa in 2009. He has written to me asking for someone who can make a presentation on indicators from the perspective of the South. 
I though that those of you working on the Climate Change group might be able to suggest someone who could be formally invited to attend the conference in SA.  Below I copy some information that can guide the decision on who that person can be.

Session on sustainable development indicators for ISI 2009. 

We have finalised the speakers for the session except for one, and I am emailing you to find out if you have any contacts or suggestions. 

The structure of the session is to have two speakers, and a panel discussion. One of the speakers is Walter Rademacher, the head of the Federal Statistics Office in Germany, who will give an overview of the topic for the session 'Sustainable Development Indicators; New Challenges.' The panel will discuss the topic 'Decision Making for Sustainable Development. What Information is Required?' We have 3 panel members confirmed who will talk from a policy perspective, statistical perspective, and academic perspective respectively 

We were aiming to have another speaker who could discuss the topic from the perspective of a developing country.
