	Here I share with you a brief summary of the facilitation team
meeting and the agreements reached. 
	Those attending were Pam, Rosa, Josephine, Marcela and Ana. Martha
was on line waiting but there were some problems and Luisa understood a
different day. 

	The agenda was as follows:
	- Report from facilitation team meeting in New York
	- Report from activities around HLE, particularly women's tribunals
	- Doha: FFT participation, other related events. 
	- Food crisis (follow up to Declaration)
	- Workshop to be presented at the next WSF in Belem, Brazil, in
January 2009
	- Guides for Women´s Tribunals 
	- FTF Declaration for 25 November
	Announcements:
	- FTF participation at GCAP Europe Assembly
	- Material on Economic Literacy 

	1. Report from facilitation team meeting in New York
	Rosa reported and highlighted that the major point was around the
Women's Tribunals, the one held in New York, but also the plans for preparing
the guide and how it can be used to organise tribunals around the world. She
said that in the case of New York, the main outcomes will be: a full report
of the tribunal; documentation of violation; charter of demands. 
	Information was then provided on what was discussed at the meeting in
relation to the guides: (i) need to have a common policy framework where the
tribunals can coincide, and then at the country level specific strategies can
be identified on how to overcome women's poverty; (ii) include clear steps to
follow in relation to identification of problems to be addressed,
documentation of cases, preparation of materials, selection of juries,
procedures, charter of demands, etc, (iii) need to have clear political
message.

	In New York it was also suggested that Social Watch could contribute
with information for the policy framework and about availability of funding
for women's programmes at country and global levels. It was agreed that Ana
will contact Roberto Bissio, Director of Social Watch. 

	The guide should include the policy framework (with a political
analysis of current situation); methodology, charter of demands; campaigning
and forward looking proposals. This guide will be used by women around the
world and it will be an important tool for International Women's Day.

	TASKS AHEAD: 

	i. CONTACT ROBERTO BISSIO: I have already called his office but he is
out of the country, I sent him a message and will report back once I get his
feedback

	ii. START DRAFTING POLICY FRAMEWORK:  Rosa will start with this and
send to all for inputs

	ii. JOSEPHINE TO ORGANISE A TRIBUNAL IN THE MIDDLE EAST IN MARCH 2009
ON PEACE AND SECURITY:  Josephine to contribute with the framework in terms
of methodology, charter of demands, etc. based on the experience of the
tribunal in Egypt and looking forward to the one in 2009.

	iv. LAY OUT:  When content is agreed upon ICAE will take the
responsibility to provide the format and lay out

	v. DEADLINE: We aim at presenting the tribunals' guide at the WSF at
the end of January 2009 in Belem, Brazil. We also want to use them as tools
for the IWD and at the CSW. Taking this into account, a first draft should be
ready by mid November.

	2. Report from activities around HLE 

	We agreed that a good amount of information was circulated. Together
with the report from the facilitation team we have added an attachment with
the report of all activities in New York that we will circulate among all FTF
members. 

	3. Doha

	Rosa, Josephine, Pam, plus Nicole and Adelaida will attend the events
around Doha. We agreed that it will be important for the FTF to present an
activity or at least materials that will contribute to the debate from a
gender perspective. We therefore agreed to develop brochures with information
on the FTF that will include 3 paragraphs with our position on the following
issues:

	- WOMEN AND CLIMATE CHANGE: Marcela Ballara to prepare the statement

	- WOMEN AND THE FINANCIAL CRISIS: Rosa Lizarde to prepare statement

	- WOMEN AND THE FOOD CRISIS: Ana Agostino to prepare statement on the
basis of declaration

	- GENERAL BROCHURE: ALL to send inputs on what they would like to
have in the brochure, highlighting what the FTF stands for

	DEADLINE: Monday 3 November in the evening (so Rosa and I can have a
look at it by early Tuesday)

	4. Food crisis follow up declaration: we think is covered through
this brochure with the statements. Martha is invited to provide other ideas.

	5. Workshop at WSF /Women's Guides on Tribunals

	We will present the guidelines as it is stated above that we will
work on them.

	We will also try to have films from the poverty tribunals in New York
and make a clip with all the other tribunals. - Need to decide on who takes
the responsibility for this. 

	6. FTF Declaration for 25 November

	It was decided to ask Martha to draft the first version and circulate
it to all. 

	7. FTF at GCAP Europe Assembly

	Luisa will attend on our behalf, Sylvia Borren will also be there and
Lysa John has also been invited.

	We are asking Luisa, with the support of the other colleagues, to
present the proposal to hold a women's tribunal in Europe. 

	8. Economic Literacy

	Josephine had circulated interesting training materials on economic
literacy. We talked about the possibility to incorporate this training into
the FTF work, as it had been discussed at the meeting early in the year. This
is a plan for 2009 and we need to look for funding. Josephine to take the
lead in developing a concept note.

	Queridas amigas, comparto un breve resumen de la reunión del equipo
de facilitación y los acuerdos a los que llegamos.
	Estuvieron presentes:
	Rosa, Pam, Josephine, Marcela y Ana. En línea esperando pero sin
conexión Martha, y Luisa que confundió el día. 

	La agenda fue la sigueinte:
	- Informe sobre la reunión del equipo de facilitación en Nueva York
	- Informe sobre las actividades en torno al HLE, en especial el
tribunal de mujeres
	- Doha: participación del ETF, eventos relacionados
	- Crisis alimentaria (seguimiento a la declaración)
	- Taller a ser presentado en el próximo FSM en Belem, Brasil, en
enero de 2009

	Anuncios:
	- Participación del ETF en Asamblea de GCAP Europa

	1. Informe sobre la reunión del equipo de facilitación en Nueva York

	Rosa informó sobre los principales puntos del Tribunal de Mujeres de
Nueva York y también sobre los planes de preparación de la guía y cómo pueden
utilizarse para organizar tribunales en distintas partes del mundo. Dijo que
en el caso de Nueva York los principales productos fueron: un informe
completo, la documentación de las violaciones, y una carta de demandas. 

	Luego se aportó información sobre qué se discutió en la reunión en
relación con las guías: (i) necesidad de tener un marco de política común en
el que los tribunales coincidan; (ii) incluir pasos concretos a seguir en
relación a la identificación de los problemas, la documentación de los casos,
la preparación de los materiales, la selección del jurado, los
procedimientos, la carta de demandas, etc., (iii) necesidad de contar con un
claro mensaje político. 

	En Nueva  York se sugirió que Social Watch podía contribuir con
información sobre el marco político y sobre la disponibilidad de fondos para
los programas de mujeres en los países y a nivel global. Se acordó que Ana se
pondría en contacto con Roberto Bissio, director de Social Watch.

	La guía debe incluir el marco político (con un análisis político de
la situación actual), metodología, carta de demandas, elementos de campaña y
propuestas hacia delante. Esta guía será utilizada por mujeres alrededor del
mundo y será un instrumento importante para el 8 de marzo. 

	TAREAS PENDIENTES

	i. CONTACTAR A ROBERTO BISSIO: Ya llamé a su oficina pero está fuera
del país. Le envié un mensaje y les informaré apenas tenga respuesta.

	ii. COMENZAR A ELABORAR EL MARCO DE POLÍTICA: Rosa va a comenzar con
esto y nos lo enviará a todas para comentarios y aportes.

	iii. JOSEPHINE VA A ORGANIZAR UN TRIBUNAL DE MEDIO ORIENTE EN MARZO
DE 2009 SOBRE PAZ Y SEGURIDAD: Josephine contribuirá en la elaboración del
marco en relación a la metodología, la carta de demandas, etc. Basada en la
experiencia del tribunal de Egipto y mirando hacia el de 2009.

	iv. LAY OUT / DISEÑO: Cuando hayamos acordado el contenido, ICAE se
hará cargo de darle formato y diseño gráfico

	v. PLAZOS: Nuestra meta es presentar la guía en el FSM de Belem a
fines de enero de 2009 y también usarla en la CSW y para el 8 de marzo. En
ese sentido deberíamos tener el primer borrador a mediados de noviembre.  

	2. Informe sobre actividades alrededor del Evento de alto nivel en
torno a los ODM

	En la reunión vimos que habíamos circulado mucha información sobre
esto y no nos detuvimos al respecto. Junto con el informe sobre la reunión
del equipo de facilitación en Nueva York estamos mandando el informe de todas
las actividades realizadas en esos días en torno al evento de alto nivel.  

	3. Doha

	Rosa, Josephine, Pam, además de Nicole y Adelaida van a participar de
los eventos en torno a Doha. Estuvimos de acuerdo en que era importante
presentar una actividad por parte de la FTF o al menos distribuir materiales
que contribuyeran al debate desde una perspectiva de género. Por lo tanto
acordamos elaborar folletos con información sobre la FTF que además van a
incluir tres párrafos con nuestra posición sobre los siguientes temas:

	- MUJERES Y CAMBIO CLIMATICO: Marcela Ballara preparará el material

	- MUJERES Y LA CRISIS FINANCIERA: Rosa Lizarde preparará el material

	- MUJERES Y LA CRISIS ALIMENTARIA: Ana Agostino preparará el material
en base a la declaración

	- FOLLETO GENERAL: Todas deven enviar contribuciones que quisieran
fueran incorpradas al folleto, destacando la misión y prioridades del FTF.  

	PLAZOS: Lunes 3 de noviembre en la tardecita (de manera que Rosa y yo
podamos contar con todo el material el martes por la mañana) 

	4. Seguimiento a la declaración sobre crisis alimentaria: creemos que
está cubierto con el material a ser incluido en el folleto, pero invitamos a
Martha a aportar otras ideas.

	5. Taller en el FSM /  Guías de Tribunales de Mujeres

	En el FSM presentaremos las guías tal como fue planteado más arriba.
También intentaremos tener videos del tribunal de mujeres de Nueva York y un
clip con todos los tribunales. - Necesitamos decidir quién asume la
responsabilidad en esta tarea. 

	6. Declaración de la FTF por el 25 de noviembre 

	Se decidió pedirle a Martha que elabore un primer borrador y luego
circularlo entre todas. 

	7. FTF en la Asamblea de GCAP Europe 

	Luisa va a participar representando al FTF, también estarán Sylvia
Borren y Lysa John que ha sido invitada. Le pedimos a Luisa, con el apoyo de
las otras compañeras, que proponga la realización de tribunales de mujeres en
Europa. 

	8. Alfabetización econoómica,

	Josephine hizo circular unos materiales de capacitación muy
interesantes sobre alfabetización económica. Hablamos sobre la posibilidad de
incorporar esta capacitación como trabajo de la FTF tal como había sido
discutido en la reunión del equipo facilitador a principio de año. Esto es
parte del plan para el 2009 para el que se necesita buscar fondos. Josephine
asume la responsabilidad en este tema y desarrollará un concepto.
