Dear Rosa,
I agree we can co-sponsor this. And it would be very good also if you can speak at the event as they suggest. So I would say go ahead and confirm our participation.
Thanks!
Ana

Subject: Fwd: Hello Rosa! Here's info about the Global Water Campaign and our proposed...
Dear colleagues,
I received this invitation from a colleague organizing around World Water Day, March 22 to partner with them on an event at the UN Church Center. I think we should go ahead and co-sponsor and we can feature the day as one of the 20 days of action in the 20 DAYS TO G20 mobilization. Let me know what you think.
Also, please send me any information you may want to feature as part of the 20 DAYS TO G20 mobilization, e.g. you may have a campaign such as this Global Water Campaign that you would like to connect with the financial crisis meltdown.
I will be sending more news shortly about the CSW and March 8th initiative. For now, I think you have received the GCAP e-newsletter featuring IWD initiatives that the FTF is spearheading. Here's an excerpt:
The first opportunity we have to ensure our voices are heard in a coordinated way worldwide comes in just two weeks time with International Women's Day when we will link gender equality with the growing food and finance crises faced largely by women. Please do look for inspiration to the Feminist Task Force Toolkit and the events already planned to make sure we make March a month of action building up to the G20 mobilisation in London and globally on the 28th of March.
GCAP is getting ready for International Women's Day 2009 mobilisation. The emphasis will be to highlight the linkages between women, poverty and the global crises (food, fuel and financial). Twenty Days after March 8th a mass civil society rally will take place in London and simultaneously in other locations around the world to keep poverty on the G20 agenda. For this 20 day period the GCAP Feminist taskforce will keep circulating information and messages related to gender equality and the crises to all who sign up to the campaign.
On International Women's Day 2009 - March 8th take action by
1.. Circulating the 20 Days to Act E-card
2.. Organizing an event or online activity focused on gender and poverty themes.
3.. Signing up for the email updates.Contact Ana Agostino (ana en icae.org.uy)
4.. Speaking out to the press and public on International women's day using the tools available form the FTF (IWD 2009 - Press release)
5.. Read the IWD Mobilisation toolkit for more information (PDF file): English / Portuguese / Arabic / French / Spanish
Thanks and please get back to me about the GWC.
Best,
Rosa

Hi Rosa,
It was good speaking with you today! Thanks again for looking into this potential collaboration.
As I was saying, my organization We, The World is announcing our Global Water Awareness & Action Campaign which launches worldwide March 20-22, 2009 with programs, civic actions, festivals, concerts, rallies, broadcasts, theater, arts presentations and other activities worldwide. To find out more, see below and/or go to www.GlobalWaterCampaign.org
We're interested in collaborating with your group to do an event at the Church Center on Friday March 20th in the afternoon (1PM-4PM). This would preferably be on the second floor, or another space if necessary.
The event will include speakers, workshops, artistic presentations and other consciousness-raising on the theme of water, the environment and social change.
We're wondering if you would like us to promote your important work as part of the Water Campaign. And in particular, would you be willing to reserve a room at the Church Center for March 20?
We will give you the opportunity to be on the program and speak about your group if you want.
And we will be happy to promote your group on our website and in emailings to our network of over 10,000 organizations and individuals.
We are interested in keeping our costs down, so if you reserve the room, I understand it will be 1/2 price (which we will cover).
Thanks again for your interest!
Below is more info about the Global Water Campaign.
Take care,
Rick
