Dear all,
following our plan agreed upon at the last Facilitation team meeting in New York in March last year, we will be implementing the workshop on economic literacy this year in May. It will be done in the framework of the International Civil Society Forum (FISC) parallel to CONFINTEA VI. This is the Adult Education Conference organised by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and it is a great opportunity to present the workshop at FISC as it will give us the chance to articulate with others, particularly women's organisations, working in this field. The idea is to co-organise it with GEO, the Gender and Education Office of ICAE. We want to put it in the perspective of the Ffd (Financing for Development) process as well as linking it to the realities of women on the ground.
The FISC will take place on 17 and 18 May in Belem do Para, Brazil (the same place where the last WSF was organised).
We need to work on the details of the workshop (Josephine has already sent some contribution), and we can do this in coordination with GEO. It will be possible to have some members of the facilitation team funded to be in Belem.
We can have a call on this once the intense activities around the CSW and the 8 of March are over.
Greetings,
Ana
