saludos to all.. thanks Luisa for the draft, Ana for the tranalation, and
josephine for this in put.. I do hope to have e mail and time tonite to send
better input.. meantime, i think Josephine input is good, and mut be
included.. we must state that it is not the crisis that have prevented the
achivement of the deadlines for the MDG's, it is commitments to death giving
priorities, like wars, bail out for banks and not people, not prioritizing
the suopport for life giving processes and programs, thus to peace and
jsutice, people and earth rights first, rather than to profit making
ventures, and schemes.. this affect those who are most vulnerable and
invisible, women, children, youth, indigenosu peoples and older adults. The
ways that the G 8, G20 have taken over the whole spectrum of participation,
bypassing the UN and all the regional bodies, and the way that more and
more, only those who have money can have a presence, and the obstruction for
civil society participation in the decision making gatherings to create
solutions for the various crisis, are not only evident, but continue to be
affirmed. Thus civil society must not only conter act, demostrate,
denosunce but be about creating the ways to be, be the difference that is so
urgently needed. we must be about creating worlds that are worth living
in.
will be bk in touch, i hope.. love..marta
