Dear friends, 
the IFT meeting yesterday did not materialise formally due to low participation. Some of us who had requested to be called (Hellen Tombo from Kenya, Magaly Pineda from the Latin American region and mysefl) were not called. We received a message later indicating that there were technical difficulties. I did call in and joined when they were discussing about procedures, precisely to define quorum (it was suggested 50% + 1 which brings it to 13) and there was also a discussion on whether or not all regions must be present in order to proceed. There was also a discussion on whether some issues could be resolved through e-mail. I said that some issues are controversial and need to be discussed by the IFT. For example the one of autonomy. As you know there are two proposals for writing some new paragraphs fro the mailing to the coalitions, in order to highlight autonomy, rather than using the ones from the Beirut declaration. This topic will be discussed at the next call which will take place either Wednesday or Thursday.

I have received some few comments to our work for the year and lood forward to new comments. Thanks!

la reunion de ayer del EFI no se formalizó por la baja participación. Algunos de nosotros habíamos pedido que nos llamaran pero no lo hicieron (Hellen Tombo de Kenia, Magaly Pineda de America Latina y yo). Luego recibimos un mensaje indicando que habia habido dificultades técnicas. Yo logré llamar y entré cuando estaban discutiendo procedimientos, precisamente cómo definir el quorum (se propueso 50%+1 lo que lleva el número a 13) y también hubo una discusión sobre si deben estar presentes o no todas las regiones para que se pueda funcionar. También se coversó sobre si algunos asuntos pueden ser resueltos via e-mail. Yo plantée que hay temas controvertidos y que deben ser discutidos por el EFI. Por ejemplo el de la autonomía. Ustedes saben que hay dos propuestas para, en nombre de la autonomía, formular ciertos párrafos nuevamente en las comunicaciones con las coaliciones en lugar de utilizar lo que ya está en la Declaración de Beirut. Este tema será discutido en la próxima reunión que será el miércoles o el jueves de la próxima semana. 

He recibido muy pocos comentarios respecto a nuestro trabajo para el año y confío que sigan llegando otros. Gracias!
