I am resending the draft minutes from the last IFT call. Rosa attended on
behalf of the FTF as I was unable to participate that day. Thanks Rosa!!
She has already sent us her comments.
Reading the minutes, I think it will be important to mention at the next call
that we should not talk about victims of poverty. The minutes say: "it would
be important to involve the victims of poverty and injustice in the work for
the month of mobilization".
We do not see women and men who have been negatively affected by the economic
model as "victims", otherwise the solutions won't lie with them, and that is
what we defend as a principle. So I suggest that we make a move to change
that language at the next meeting.
I also want to tell you that we have received acknowledgement from the
Funders's group about our proposal. As I mentioned earlier, we have basically
asked for funding for the strategic meeting in Toronto, another strategic
meeting in Nairobi next year during the WSF when GCAP will plan its work for
2007 and to be able to sustain the list including the translations. They
would like to have a clearer picture of the activities and outputs that we
want to achieve during 2006. In the proposal we said that concrete activities
will be defined during the strategic meeting. But we emphasised on the flow
of information, on being able to identify women's particular solutions to
poverty and make them known, to have a plan of action until the end of 2007,
besides the permanent work within GCAP to ensure that the work for women's
rights is seen as crucial in all efforts to eradicate poverty. If you would
like us to include some concrete actions for 2006, please send them to me as
soon as possible, by tomorrow will be great.
We hope to get the funding and hold the meeting next month. So the plans for
going to Toronto should start soon. We also need to know who will be
attending the AIDS Conference and will be there already. I look forward then
to your comments on all these aspects. Thank you very much!!!

Les reenvio las minutas de la ultima llamada del EFI. Rosa participo en
nombre del ETF ya que yo pude estar presente ese dia. Gracias Rosa! Ella ya
nos envio sus comentarios.
Leyendo las minutas creo que es important mencionar en la proxima llamada que
no deberiamos hablar de victimas de la pobreza. Las minutas dicen: “seria
importante que las victimas de la pobreza y de la injusticia participaran en
el trabajo por el mes de movilizacion”.
Nosotros no vemos a las mujeres y a los hombres que han sido afectados
negativamene por el modelo economico como “victimas”, si fuera asi ellos no
podrian aportar hacia las soluciones, y nosotros creemos que si pueden
hacerlo, y defendemos eso como un principio. De manera que sugiero que en la
proxima reunion propongamos un cambio de lenguaje.
Tambien queria decirles que recibimos mensaje del grupo de los donantes
indicando que recibieron nuestra solicitud. En ella, como les habia
informado, basicamente solicitamos fondos para la reunion estrategica de
Toronto, otra reunion estrategica en Nairobi el proximo anho durante el FSM
cuando GCAP va a planificar su trabajo para el 2007, y para poder sostener
la lista incluyendo el trabajo de traduccion. A ellos les gustaria tener una
vision mas acabada de las actividades y productos a obtener en el 2006. En la
propuesta planteamos que estas actividades serian definidas en la reunion
estrategica. Pero enfatizamos asuntos como la circulacion de informacion, el
rescate de practicas concretas de mujeres que ofrecen respuestas para la
erradicacion de la pobreza y su difusion, el tener un plan de accion concreto
hasta finales del 2007, ademas de asegurar que GCAP en su conjunto incorpore
el trabajo por los derechos de las mujeres como una condicion indispensable
en la lucha contra la pobreza. Si tienen propuestas de acciones para el 2006
que quisieran incluir, les agradezco me las hagan llegar si fuera posible
manhana.
Confiamos en recibir apoyo y poder tener nuestra reunion estrategica el
proximo mes. Los planes entonces para ir a Toronto deben comenzar pronto.
Tambien quisieramos saber quien va a ir a la conferencia de ONU/SIDA y ya va
a estar esos dias en Toronto.
