[Gcap-mujeres] Global council call /Llamada del Consejo Global de GCAP

Dear friends,
queridas amigas,

We have just finished the monthly call of the GCAP global council and I wanted to share with you that the meeting started congratulating the work done by the FTF team at the CSW, and specially the coordinating and organising work of Rosa!!! The good event organised, the level of attendance and the work done in general were recognised by all attending the meeting. So a special thanks to Rosa and the team that represented us in New York during those days. The efforts of the e-campaign (still on) and its impact were also recognised and praised.
The meeting agenda also included an analysis of the plans for the MDG Review and it was suggested that the FTF puts together a review from a gender perspective of what has happened with the MDGs in these last 10 years. It would be very good if we get volunteers from all regions to work on this document. It can be a very important contribution not just for GCAP but for women in general. So we look forward to volunteers to work on this specific gender review of the MDGs.
Fiounuala also informed of the activity we are planning together, FTF and GCAP, at the Conference of the Peoples on Climate Change that will take place in Cochabamba, Bolivia, next month. As you know, we will be presenting a self organised activity on the tribunals on gender and climate change.
And finally, the dates and venue of the GCAP Global Assembly were discussed again. Though no final decision was taken, the probability that it will be in New York around the dates of the MDG Review in September are quite high. I will confirm with you all as this is finally agreed upon. We should start our preparations for participation at these global assembly soon as we need to have a FTF strategic debate toward the Assembly.
So, this is a brief summary of the call today.

Queridas amigas,
acaba de terminar la llamada mensual del consejo global de GCAP y quería compartir con ustedes que la reunión comenzó con felicitaciones al equipo del ETF presente en la CSW, y especialmente a la tarea de organización y coordinación de Rosa. Hubo reconocimiento al alto nivel de la actividad organizada por el ETF y al trabajo general desplegado en la CSW. De manera que enviamos un agradecimiento especial a Rosa y al equipo que nos representó en Nueva York durante esos días. También hubo un reconocimiento a los esfuerzos de la campaña virtual (en marcha) y a su impacto durante la llamada.
La agenda de la reunión también incluyó análisis de los planes hacia la revisión de los ODM y se sugirió que el ETF prepare una revisión de lo ocurrido con los ODM en estos 10 años desde una perspeciva de género. Sería muy bueno contar con voluntarias de todas las regiones para trabajar en este documento. Será una contribución importante no sólo para GCAP sino para las mujeres en general. De manera que confiamos que escriban voluntarias indicando la volunta de trabajar en esta revisión de género sobre los ODM.
Fiounuala también informó sobre la actividad que estamos planificando juntos el ETF y GCAP en la conferencia mundial de los pueblos sobre cambio climático que tendrá lugar en abril en Cochabamba, Bolivia. Como saben, estaremos presentando una actividad autogestionada sobre los tribunales de género y cambio climático. 
Y finalmente, se discutieron nuevamente las fechas y el lugar de la próxima asamblea mundial de GCAP. A pesar de que por ahora no se tomó una decisión final es muy probable que se realice en Nueva York en coincidencia con el proceso de revisión de los ODM. Les confirmaré apenas de apruebe la fecha y el lugar. Una vez que eso se resuelva debemos empezar a preparar nuestra participación en la asamblea mundial pues debemos dar un debate estratégico sobre nuestros planes y expectativas hacia la asamblea.
