[Gcap-mujeres] MDG Round table / Mesa redonda ODM

Dear all,
queridas amigas (espanhol abajo),

we have been now in NY for some days and several activities have already 
taken place. I will be sending a more detailed report but I wanted to share 
now with you information on the round tables. I participated on Monday at 
the one on meeting the goals on education and health. I am attaching the 
document I had prepared in consulation with colleagues from ICAE and using 
as well documents that emerged from FISC and the civil society caucus at 
CONFINTEA and the civil society document handed in to the UN SG in response 
to his document, in a process that was led by GCAP. I also prepared a 
smaller version for the three minutes intervention we were told all speakers 
would have, but this was unfortunately not the case. There were several 
heads of states and mininster who spoke much longer and there was not enough 
time, so eventually past the hour civil society speakers were given one 
minute to share. So there was hardly any time to say anything, and by then 
the room was actually almost empty.
There is a lot to share in terms of what the governmental speakers said, as 
there were certainly several good interventions, and of course several who 
were not good at all. But talking to other people who made presentations at 
other round tables, it is also clear that there is much to discuss about the 
usefulness of this space. I will send a more detailed message tomorrow. 
For the time being here goes the document.

adjunto (en ingles) la presentacion que prepare para la mesa redonda sobre 
los ODM sobre educacion y salud, para lo cual tenia tres minutos para hablar 
y por lo tanto aparte del documento adjunto prepare uno mas breve. De todas 
maneras los y las representantes de la sociedad civil no tuvimos ese tiempo 
y cuando nos dieron la palabra ya practicamente no quedaba nadie en la sala. 
De todas maneras tengo mucha informacion para compartir con ustedes sobre 
las intervenciones de los representates oficiales, que les enviare manhana.
